Edko Films is backing Cold War co-helmer Longman Leung’s new biopic, Anita, based on the life and times of the late Hong Kong film, television and music sensation Anita Mui, who sadly passed away in 2003. Hong Kong model Louise Wong stars in the title role for the film’s theatrical release later this year, with Sony reportedly acquiring the film for release in several Asian territories according to reports out of Screen. This long-awaited biopic provides a vivid account of the remarkable life of Anita Mui in and behind the limelight, chronicling her journey from a child performer to becoming one of world’s most recognized music icons.
