While the exhibitors try to mitigate the prospects of regaining audiences in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Matthew Vaughn’s long-awaited The King’s Man, now arrives back in the fray with an official trailer for a September 18 release after shelving its February date.
It’s high time the next chapter of the Kingsman franchise commences with director Matthew Vaughn’s latest entry, The King’s Man. Trading balls-to-the-wall spy gadgetry and spectacle for a more grittier, grounded wartime take, the prequel lines up an ensemble cast that brings Ralph Fiennes to the forefront of the saga with a new hero.
Today is the day Comic-Con kicks off in San Diego and Twentieth Century Fox is kicking things off bright and early with a brand new trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle. You won’t be limited here, though, as there are two versions – one of which you can view just beneath in glorious red-band form.
“Kingsman: The Secret Service” introduced the world to Kingsman – an independent, international intelligence agency operating at the highest level of discretion, whose ultimate goal is to keep the world safe. In “Kingsman: The Golden Circle,” our heroes face a new challenge. When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, their journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US called Statesman, dating back to the day they were both founded. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…
Returning next to lead actor Taron Egerton are actors Mark Strong and a one-eyed Colin Firth, and starring a sinister Julianne Moore, actress Halle Berry, and lasso-wielding Statesmen Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges. Somewhere in all this is Sir Elton John while not exactly visible in the trailer, but it can wait until the release…
…And September 22 it is! Peep it!
I’ll probably end up sounding repetitive what with all my previous musings about Kingsman: The Secret Service, so I’ll probably be short here as there’s nothing else to add. The film just had its premiere in London off the heels of months of positive reviews from moviegoers who have already seen it across the pond. Hence, with less than a month away from the film’s release, it appears the film is selling itself quite well.
Matthew Vaughn directs with Colin Firth and Taron Egerton starring for its February 13 U.S. release, and to get a brief glimpse of the Kingsman-style action, there’s a new clip floating out and about. And here’s a word of advice when confronting Firth in his Kingsman outfit: Hold on to your tongue lest you wish to lose your teeth!
