CCXP24 is well underway in Brazil and with fans getting an exclusive first look at what’s to come in the new year, including Scott Derrickson’s new action adventure, The Gorge. The Apple Original Films release begins its global launch on February 14, and stars Miles Teller, and Anya Taylor-Joy along with Sigourney Weaver, and Sope Dirisu. Two highly-trained operatives (Teller and Taylor-Joy) are appointed to posts in guard towers on opposite sides of a vast and highly classified gorge, protecting the world from an undisclosed, mysterious evil that lurks within. They bond from a distance while trying to stay vigilant in defending against an unseen enemy. SDCC 2019: TOP GUN: MAVERICK Official Teaser Revealed!
It’s been quite the while since director Joseph Kosinski took to the helm with twice the Tom Cruise for futuristic sci-fi, Oblivion. They’re back together now and with San Diego Comic Con in full steam, the official teaser for Top Gun: Maverick is now here. The plot is largely a mystery though the general knowledge is that the iconic role of Maverick – played by Cruise since the 1986 film – will be an instructor in a technologically advanced world. Matt Donnelly at Variety quotes Cruise stating the following during the Hall H panel: “…to me, ‘Top Gun’ is about competition.” In the trailer shown, that sentiment is alive and well but its not about skilled pilots fighting against machines — this time, they’re battling drones.” Peter Craig, Justin Marks, and Eric Warren Singer penned the script.
