It’s been a quite a minute since we’ve last heard anything on actress Natalie Martinez’s upcoming bid in the martial arts drama, Warrior. That’s something I’ve been looking forward to since they filmed a pilot and those hopes haven’t waned on me since, although nowadays fight fans will find her throwing down on the hit Audience Network MMA drama, Kingdom. With one of the biggest and more prominent ingredients in television being the application of martial arts fight sequences, it’s without argument that the upcoming television series, Warrior, would have been a hit for NBC if they snagged it for series. Unfortunately they missed their chance several months ago and the show was without a network, leaving the show’s producers at Universal TV with the hopes of finding a new home for the series, and now they have. In the meantime, Colt 45 helmer Fabrice Du Welz‘s new crime thriller, Message From The King is taking off this month in Los Angeles courtesy of the kind folks over at The Ink Factory with leading man Chadwick Boseman front and center, and a new report from Deadline has since confirmed a role for the actress as well. Scripted by producer Stephen Cornwell and co-writer Oliver Butcher, the new film is said to take its inspired tone from classic crime thrillers like Point Blank and The French Connection.
