I’m anxious for the next several weeks and what the possibilities may bring. In the meantime, we’re back again with another installment of The Hit List, packed with amazing stuntreels and online action short gems from around the web. We kick off the stunt playlist with Ron Smoorenberg, living a life of action with every move per his mantra. Other entries include Lauren Nguyen, Daniel Locicero, Allen Quindiagan, Chris Cortez, ‘Enelē Ma’afu Tauteoli, Damion Tanzer, Dan Pelchat, Kate Cochran, Donald Brooks, Hayden Lam, Mykola Galagan, Skylar Mowatt, Valisa Tate, Patrick King, Patrick Ptasinsky, Lexter Santana, Elisa Sargent and Tristan O’Connell, followed by reels from stunt coordinator Martin K.R. Zetterlund, Mongol Stunts, and a lengthy opus from stunt and fight coordinator Dan Rizzuto. For promo bits, tomorrow will see the release of some Jordan Cann action with Timothy Colon in Elysian Showdown, and we have the brief teaser up next to […]
I actually had a lot to do this weekend – some of which I almost didn’t get done… this week’s installment of The Hit List being one of them. Alas, here we are! Julia Maggio is here to get things started for the action reels playlist this week followed by the latest in stunt and demo gems from Josh Fried, Talin Chat, Ali Al-Azawi, Erin Wu, Paul Hampshire, Danny Darwin, Austin Maxwell, Olivia Summers, ‘Enelē Ma’afu Tauteoli, Steffen Jung, Kenny Waymack Jr., Shawn Marie Koo, Pingi Moli, Jose Pacheco, and some astute stunt and fight choreography by the one-and-only Matt Mullins! Time to promote some stuff, and thus, we have a first look at Trent Dickens’ upcoming short, Panda, which bodes as one of the most trippy, existential crime dramas you’ll possibly ever see. The tease comes ahead of the full trailer on Friday, and just beneath is a teaser […]
It’s been a hell of a year. There are definitely a few things I want to share in that regard and will do in another post going into December. In the meantime, we have another installment of the Hit List with plenty of online gems to count and we begin with an inspirational jewel from actress, martial artist and filmmaker Maria Tran who is currently in tow with a female-fronted doc about stuntwomen in Asia. The playlist continues with entries from Andy Whitmarsh, Klem Kaan, Chris Schmidt Jr., A.J. Gagliardi, Chelsea Goldsmith, Josh Madison, Kevin R. James, Timothy Flood, Geneviève Doang, Shane D.R. Alson, Michael Laricchia, Jacob Pattison and Marian Sing, with direction and coordination reels by Kefi Abrikh, Marques Zaror and Czech Action Crew. Just a little more on the aforementioned Kevin R. James who appears to have a shortfilm project in the works called The Prodigies Production – […]
Once again I’ve got my work cut out for me so there may be less articles this week while I prepare a select raft of pieces going forward through mid-December. At any rate, I’m still posting – perhaps even on Thanksgiving, so there’s that. For now, it’s time for another installment of The Hit List – dispelling the notion that businessmen in suits are the “real” artists. Fight choreographer and stunt performer David Lavalee Jr. kicks off our stunt/demo reel playlist with a fine reel to display, followed by amazing reels from British Stunt Registry entry Craig Canning, Ishida Sachiko, Stuart Boother, Claire Hoogenboom, Zak Self, Rissy Dollins, Alan Silva, Talyn Edelson, Riley Rios Olga Miller, Christopher Spurrier, Ilana Collins, Jeremy Rivette, Noon Nardia Pimpitcha Boon, and a sensational demo reel by stunt multi-hyphenate Hiroki Asai. There are several promo goods this week to share in the playlist below – […]
Happy Monday night here on this side of the globe! I hope everyone has had an easy start to their week as we slowly but surely approach the Fall season. Guaranteed, of course and as always, are just some of the latest smashing stunt and training reels by today’s performers to start another fresh installment of the weekly Hit List! Kicking things off is stuntman Haitao “Johnny” Zhao, Bobby Hernandez, Meili Carpenter, Omar Zaki, Amanda Voll and Sergei Dmitriev. Next to last a trio of indivdual stunt reels currently heading the latest launch of Far East Action, comprised of a raft of seasoned and talented heavy-hitters and wreckers working on major local and international productions today, including and not limited to Paul Clark, recent interview subject Alexandre Bailly and mini-gun brandishing Wolf Warrior co-star Kevin Lee. And last in the playlist is a nifty and nimble Welcome To La La Land […]
Having written this on the day of, I’m just glad that my weekend didn’t completely burn me out. Needless to say, I had my work cut out for me but I’m glad to have managed to squeeze in today’s playlists loaded with great stunt and fight work from today’s inspired action cinema creatives. Alas, welcome to another installment of The Hit List, and kicking things off is another new playlist full of electric stunt reels. Shahaub Roudbari kicks things off followed by Canadian traceur and stunt performer, Thomas Lorber. Following that is one of the rare instances I’ll feature a reel that doesn’t use music as the outling backdrop, and that comes from actress and filmmaker PeiPei Alena Yuan – no stranger to stunts and fight choreography having put out some great gems on her channel and making her all the more enjoyable to cover on this site. Deadpool double […]
Last year was the first full year of the Monday night The Hit List. To that end, it’s been pretty successful and I’m very glad that a lot of people are picking up on this column here at Film Combat Syndicate. It’s pretty rewarding too, and I can’t wait to share as much of the internet’s amazing quality creative content in the next 360 days. Alas, it is the top 2016 and I’m curious to see where this goes… First up is a fresh little tricking gathering reel courtesy of Trick DynamiX, followed by stunt reels from Singapore-based Peps Goh, Gennady Krutko, Kendall Wells, Mohamed Benabdellah, stunt group K Dynamique, stunt performers Will Willoughby, Jamie DiLeo and Jay Hawkins, and an explosive, crushing new self-spoken stunt coordinator reel by Baur Abishev. Up next, it’s off to the crowdfunding department with two new videos: While we advance into 2016 with what […]
