As a Resident Evil apologist, I always get excited for new official films and shows. While the results have been hit and miss, to put it lightly, there’s something fun about playing in the sandbox that the brilliant Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara created in the original Biohazard. The sequel to the Resident Evil: Vendetta film, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has released a trailer for the next film in the R.E. Universe, RESIDENT EVIL: DEATH ISLAND. The trailer features familiar protagonists, stunning visuals, and plenty of Bio-Organic Weapons to tear apart with a little heroic gunplay! RESIDENT EVIL: Zombie Pandemic Terror Looms In The New Series Teaser
I all but gave up on keeping up with the Milla Jovovich-led Resident Evil franchise. Frankly I never even thought it would last as long as it did but here we are, and now with Netflix readying its own serial take on the hit zombie IP with a series premiering July 14, we have our first teaser. Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse. Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. RESIDENT EVIL Gets Netflix Series Development
Aquaman helmer James Wan may not be producing the Resident Evil reboots that were announced in 2017, but that hasn’t thusfar brought cause for concern. 47 Meters Down helmer Johannes Roberts is penning a script from which he’ll so far direct as far as plans go as of early December, so for now, keep an eye out for those updates if you wish to keep all your corporate skullduggery and zombie-killing on the big screen… That’s unless you prefer to share that bit of excitement at home in which case, Netflix has your back. RESIDENT EVIL Is Getting A CG Reboot
With a reboot of the second game in the works and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter takes shape for its January 2017 release (bearing in mind the new crowdfunding campaign to help one of its principle stuntwomen, Olivia Jackson, who was seriously injured during filming), it looks like another one is also in store and adding further to the roster of its previous CG-animated titles. Marza Animation Planet is reportedly teaming up with Capcom for what’s being otherwise described as a full reboot of the Resident Evil franchise which will be bringing back characters like Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Rebecca Chambers.
