RESIDENT EVIL Teaser Reveals A City Under Siege!
I don’t know about you but the Resident Evil films of yesteryear were an exhaustive mess of fanservice and lazy writing, and this is coming from someone who played one of the games at least once many MANY moons ago upon visiting a friend’s place. I still haven’t had a chance to see the 2021 film or the series either which is streaming on Netflix, but we now have a new movie on the horizon from director Zach Cregger who’s been getting his flowers for a while now with films like Barbarian and Weapons.
From the mind of visionary filmmaker Zach Cregger (Weapons, Barbarian) comes a thrilling — and terrifying — reinvention of the Resident Evil franchise. In an all-new story, Resident Evil follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a medical courier who unwittingly finds himself in an action-packed, non-stop race for survival as one fateful, horrifying night collapses around him in chaos.
That’s pretty much what sums up the official teaser which debuted on Thursday. The rest is a mystery, of course, save for the usual zombie fanfare and whatever source material nods pending.
Zach Cherry, Kali Reis and Paul Walter Hauser also star for the film’s September 18 release from Columbia Pictutes and Constantin Film, in association with TriStar Pictures. Watch the teaser:
