Director Antoine Fuqua’s 2014 reboot, The Equalizer, set the tone promptly for a potential hit franchise that now leaves us a sequel currently dated for September 29 next year. In the meantime, the name to keep close to here is that of screenwriter Richard Wenk who penned both films as well as the upcoming Jack Reacher: Never Go Back and The Magnificent Seven remake. According to Deadline, Wenk will now put pen to paper in adapting author Steve Hamilton’s upcoming novel, The Second Life Of Nick Mason, which will publish next month. The film is being developed by Lionsgate following a book deal last summer while a director and cast info remain pending.
