Production recently wrapped from a script written by Matt Cook with suceeding revisions by Rowan Joffé and Alex Garland, and then DiStefano. Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, and The Fyzz Facility’s Wayne Marc Godfrey, Robert Jones, Mark Lane and James Harris are producing along with Ollie Madden. The Fyzz Facility is also financing the film with Thunder Road’s Jonathan Fuhrman and Magnolia Entertainment’s Shelley Browning serving as executive producers. Jason Resnick brokered the deal for Aviron Pictures as head of acquisitions. Bloom is handling international sales.
THREE SECONDS Novel Adaptation Starts The Clock At Cannes With Cast Reveal
With sales kicking off at Cannes on Wednesday, Bloom has unveiled as part of its slate, Escobar: Paradise Lost helmer Andrea Di Stefano’s Three Seconds. The new action thriller, inspired by the 2015 novel from Swedish award-winning author duo Anders Roslund and Börge Hellström, is currently in pre-production and has actress Rosamund Pike (The World’s End) and actors Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad), Common (John Wick: Chapter Two) and Clive Owen (Shoot ‘Em Up) starring.
The film, written by Matt Cook with suceeding revisions by Rowan Joffé and Alex Garland, and then DiStefano sees ex-con and former spec-ops soldier Pete Hoffman who, in the last-inning struggle to free himself from the grip of crooked FBI handlers trying to infiltrate the Polish mob drug trade in New York City, finds him undercover, back behind bars, and in an explosive race against time before his identity is exposed. Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are producing alongside financier The Fyzz Facility’s own Wayne Marc Godfrey, Robert Jones, Mark Lane, James Harris and Ollie Madden.

EFM 2017: José Padilha’s Untitled ENTEBBE Project Wraps Filming Ahead Of Berlin For Lionsgate
Narcos and Elite Squad helmer José Padilha’s newest taut political thrilller is officially taking the market stage after wrapping principal photography in the U.K. and in Malta. Tentatively named the Untitled Entebbe Project for Participant Media and Working Title Films, Lionsgate is presenting the film to sell to non-output territories at the European Film Market this week in Berlin as one of two titles on its slate with the other being alien invasion sci-fi, Captive State, as of last month.
Academy Award® nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Golden Globe Award nominee Daniel Brühl (Captain America: Civil War) star in the film from a screenplay by Gregory Burke, bringing to focus the longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine through the story of a daring military rescue following the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris. Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), Ben Schnetzer (Snowden), Lior Ashkenazi (Footnote), and Denis Ménochet (Inglourious Basterds) round out the film’s international cast.
Participant Media who financed through Amblin Partners, produced the film with Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, and producers Kate Solomon, Michelle Wright and Ron Halpern. Participant’s Jeff Skoll and Jonathan King are executive producing with Olivier Courson, Jean-Claude Darmon, Angela Morrison, Liza Chasin, and Jo Burn.
Focus Features will release the film in North America while eOne slates the film for releases United Kingdom, Australia/New Zealand, Spain and throughout the Benelux union.
