Check Out Two New Promo Spots For TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!
I don’t normally push a lot of TV spots, but I’m compelled a little bit here when it comes to the new one being pushed for the upcoming release of director Jonathan Liebesman‘s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Of course, opinions are still floating around regarding how the CG turtles look, but the optimism is increasing little by little from the talk I’ve been hearing, and the most recent trailer is what is contributing to some of that newfound optimism.
Still, the film awaits its first slate of reviews, and if they are any indication by then, hopefully the film will perform exceptionally enough for a sequel if necessary. And I would love to see an epic sequel take this newly rebooted screen franchise to the next level.
Check out the TV spot below, in addition to a new viral video, and click here to see which turtle YOU are!

French Indie Short Project DRAGON BALL Z: THE FALL OF MEN Gets A Fiery New Teaser!
Fan fare over the success of manga author Akira Toriyama’s classic property, Dragon Ball Z is unyielding, and has inspired plenty of artists over the years to pursue their own vision in the universe in a way that would entertain fans. On this end, leave it to the likes of Normandy-based film school graduate and independent filmmaker Yohan Faure, and art director Vianney Griffon, who began showing for their efforts in a test teaser they accompanied with a push on Indiegogo last year to get things started, and unfortnately those efforts came short.
So what’s the big deal? Well, the big deal happens to be that somehow they’ve managed to get the engine running. And, not only is the upcoming short fan film in post production, but according to my source – the project’s featured stunt performer, stunt double and fight choreographer Anthony Pho, the shortfilm is also poised for a 3D presentation for its climactic final fight scene. And this is an indie project we’re talking, which is pretty rare. But with the awesome nature of the Dragon Ball universe, if you were a filmmaker and wanted to present a product that would succeed in turning heads with a small 3D ornamentation as a plus, then if the new official teaser below is any indication, you’re coming pretty damn close.
“The world is not like it is supposed to be, something happened in the course of time…”
With these words Trunks wakes up in the middle of a ruined city. He then remembers the loss of his friends, his preparation to fight Cell, even though he knows he might not be strong enough, he will still try to make a difference.
“The Fall of Men” is born from our desire to tell the DRAGON BALL Z story in a more realistic and dramatic way. Set in a different future than the canon, this untold story focuses on the son of VEGETA who tries to save the Earth against the infamous CELL.
Dragon Ball Z: The Fall Of Men has a Facebook that could use your attention between now and its release sometime next year. So, feel free to watch the trailer below and head over to the Facebook page and follow where this goes.
UPDATE – 7/12/14 – 7:00am EST: A previous version of this article stated the entire shortfilm was getting a 3D conversion. That detail has since been corrected.
MORTAL KOMBAT LEGACY: SEASON 2 Gets A Home Release Date!
In the beginning, the universe and its realms were in harmony, but even gods are not immune to power and greed. This balance was soon thrown into discord. The power-hungry gods challenged each other over the fates of their respective realms. They battled to the death in tournaments alongside mortal champions chosen from each realm. For millennia, Shao Kahn — the Emperor of Outworld — has successfully expanded his domain by defeating other realms. Edenia was the last realm to lose the tournament and fall to Shao Kahn. Ten years ago in the last tournament, Outworld and Earth-realm’s warriors clashed, and Liu Kang emerged victorious. Earth-realm was spared. But now Shao Kahn’s challenge has come again, and a new war is about to commence. The fate of Earth-realm and its inhabitants rests upon the outcome of this tournament. Let the kombat begin.

PREDATOR: DARK AGES Kicks Off Crowdfunding On Kickstarter
Hollywood director Shane Black may be on the way with a feature-length Predator sequel, but that isn’t stopping a small group over in the U.K. from pushing forward with an independent take of their own with the new shortfilm project, Predator: Dark Ages. The official Facebook page for the project has since long been launched to help gather as much of a readership as possible, with concept art and posters, and a teaser unveiled not too long ago.
That teaser is now accompanied by the brand new crowdfunding video which you can now view at the official Kickstarter page which just launched today.
SYNOPSIS:
Our Predator fan film is set in the Dark Ages, it is a period in history where mankind was plagued by disease and famine, as well as having to live and die by the sword.
Our film follows a group of war-torn Templar knights who have returned from the Eastern lands, back to England, only to find that the enemy is now a lot closer and a lot more deadly than before.
Throughout time the Predator has always looked for the greatest warriors to fight in battle, and with this short film we will see him put to the test against the some of the best history has ever seen, the Templar Knights.
Their battle with the Predator is the thing Myths and Legends are made of.
The Predator stories have always been told in a variety of ways dating back to the John McTiernan-directed classic, even so far the two crossover films that mingled the supernatural hunter with the Alien universe within the last decade. So to see a director use the title character as the driving force for a period short featuring templar knights is not at all odd, but quite the opposite. And with the goal of keeping true to the source material, Predator: Dark Ages appears to be something that guarantees promise.
If you’ve missed out on the teaser then check it out and then head over to the official Kickstarter page to learn more about the intended cast and crew, as well as how to donate, and the perks you will earn on top of getting to see another potentially amazing piece of indie film!
PACIFIC RIM 2 Gets A Target Release Date!
A sequel to last year’s modest blockbuster success story, Pacific Rim, has been in development for a while now. It wasn’t going to happen right away since earning only a little over half its budget back, but I suppose grossing that same number four times over globally was pretty helpful.
But most importantly, director Guillermo Del Toro wanted to do it, and so did Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull. And following up with earlier reports of the director drafting a sequel with writer Zak Penn, a new video announcement is available online for the targeted theatrical release date of April 7, 2017 for Pacific Rim 2, preceded by an animated series set in the film’s universe. The director also offered hopes of several principle actors returning for their roles, telling Buzzfeed, “The characters I love will return,… “Raleigh, Mako, Newt, Gottlieb and who knows, maybe even Hannibal Chau – but we are taking them into a fresh territory that will display amazing sights and battles. The first film set the stage and now we’re ready to have a blast.”.
Hopefully Hellboy 3 will get the same attention in the not too distant future. But until then…empty the clip, G!

PREDATOR Is Getting Rebooted
The Predator franchise is still a thing among fans worldwide since the eponymous alien tribal warrior and hunter launched its war on mankind and other living creatures between John McTiernan’s 1987 jungle thriller with lead actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the 2010 epic from director Nimród Antal, Predators. The film also landed two other spin-off movies before Antal’s film which crossed between its own franchise and the Aliens universe, but Predators was the last known project that was confirmed for a sequel upon its release that same month in July.
Since then, not much has happened for a fourth film to follow Antal’s entry, especially with the third film’s producer, Robert Rodriguez busier nowadays with his new operations in Texas for El Rey Network and other obligations. This week however, the word now is that Iron Man 3 director Shane Black is coming aboard Twentieth Century Fox’s new push to help reboot the franchise altogether.
Black, who also had a cameo in the first film, is most prolifically known for his writing work for the 1987 buddy cop action blockbuster franchise launch, Lethal Weapon, and his work on the horror comedy, Monster Squad that same year with co-writer Fred Dekker. Dekker will be enhancing Black’s treatment with a new script which Jon Davis, who helped produce McTiernan’s 1987 film, will also produce.
Black has two other films he’s working on now, but the issue may still remain for some pertaining to just why Fox wants to reboot the film. It could still move ahead with a Predators 2 movie if the studio chose to, with actor Adrien Brody and actress Alice Braga potentially returning. At any rate now, with a reboot set in stone and no specifics out just yet, there’s plenty of time to speculate. So, the speculating begin!
