It has taken several years (decades, even!) to formulate a seemingly ambitious and appropriate vision of Capcom’s Street Fighter to happen in a live-action format, and as we grow closer to the release of that very conception in the form of director Joey Ansah‘s newest labor of love, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, updates on the official Facebook page have been rare as of late. This week, however, fans were treated with another full glimpse of actor, co-writer/creator and fight choreographer Christian Howard in the role of Ken Masters, which you can view above. Post production continues on actor, writer and director Joey Ansah‘s forthcoming multi-platform live-action feature film, Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist. Hopefully you are all already subscribed to the project’s official page by now and are clued-in on what’s happening with this amazing ambitious project led by Ansah along with fellow lead actor and co-writer/creator Christian Howard. However, in case you are just now catching onto things, the film, which will also be released as an episodic series in several parts, has undergone specific ADR sessions in Los Angeles with the cast. There are only 16 days left for the Kickstarter campaign to help get the funding needed for the series production of STREET FIGHTER: ASSASSIN’S FIST. Co-creator and co-star of the Capcom-backed series and 2010 Street Fighter Legacy shortfilm Joey Ansah has been urgently and adamantly pushing for public funding for the project since backing away from other major financiers who were willing to grant the project with strings attached. 2013 may possibly be the year we will remember the names of producer Jacqueline Quella, and martial arts actor, stuntman and action filmmaker Joey Ansah for helping bring to life what could possibly be the best live-action adaptation of Campom’s long-running video fighting game franchise, Street Fighter, that any fan may ever see. In 1993, Hong Kong cinemas were first given a taste of Street Fighter characters in such films as Future Cops the live action manga Hong Kong action comedy, City Hunter. Film goers would also get a few more heavily-invested features with the distribution of the 1994 feature, Street Fighter, with then-rising international action star Jean-Claude Van Damme in the lead.
