THE HIT LIST: January 23, 2017

My weekend was loaded with work – I hope I can hold up this week! Goodness… Friday evening was fantastic though and I ended up using all of Saturday to write about it which you can read more on here. For all else, it’s time for the Hit List and we begin with another fine grouping of stunt action and training reels by some of today’s best and up-and-coming performers. Stacie Rathbone kicks things off nice and high with a mackin’ new reel of her own, as well as the Arkham Assassin himself, Spencer Mulligan, followed by reels from Michelle DeMond, Jerry Quill, the delightful Cheryl Lewis, Jeffrey Olynek, Adair Moran, Nate Ozeroff, Jared Beaulieu, Clancy Petersen, Rhys Williams and Tamas Haygo. Particular current events in the news notwithstanding, Thanksgiving weekend was a mild letdown on my end. We still had dinner though, which was awesome as always. A bit indigestive? Yes… But delish nonetheless. I also slowed down a bit so I can enjoy my weekend some, though with my Facebook notifications and messages buzzing with entries for the Hit List, I couldn’t pass it up and indeed there were a few things I wanted to share anyway. And as always, that includes stunt reels to kick things off first and foremost with Heather Bonomo‘s newest reel, followed by those of Nick Dunn, Tiana Webberly, Matt Philliben, Tanna Jo and freerunning extraordinare Josh Yadon. William Spencer and Caine Sinclair have their work cut out for them with the online premiere of the new short, Two Bellmen Two. The JW Marriot hotel chain sets the stage for our lead actors in the company of music and movement performance troupe, Substance Over Hype with stunt sequences staged by James Hutchison, and actress Frieda Pinto and actor Ali Al Sayed also starring. The Hit List is back this week and there’s at least one video you should check out here as it pertains to an upcoming televsion series arriving this Fall. For now, the Hit List begins in the only way it should, particularly considering anyone who knows who action star Donnie Yen is knows he has a sister. The past week has been a bit crazy for me, although I wasn’t going to let it stop me from putting together this week’s new Hit List article. Indeed it’s shorter than usual as I’m sure I missed some gems that may be floating around out there, but there’s always time to share those as well, at best. This week is chock-full of Mortal Kombat gems in light of the latest premiere of Mortal Kombat Legacy: Season 2. With the latest team effort from EMC Monkeys having released their own promotional piece for the series, several other directors also joined the fray, including Mike Dahlquist, Caine Sinclair and David Moore. For the first, Dahlquist (a.k.a. Mike Diva) brings EMC Monkey team members Johnny Yang and Tony Sre in a classic duel to the bloody finish as Scorpion and Noob Saibot. The amazing folks over at Sub Over Hype have unveiled another project they recently completed, featuring quirky characters and some tasty swashbuckling swordplay in their latest action comedy pirate adventure, The Pirate’s Cove. The two-part short film project is directed by Caine Sinclair, an actor with up to five years of professional stuntwork and currently in his third year working with the team. In accordance with The Pirate’s Cove, Sinclair expressed his excitement in the goals he shares while working with Sub Over Hype, now, saying “SOH is a group of people who want to tell stories through movement and music in the most unique ways possible.
