A new year is in tow for visually hefty Chinese cinema, and Bodyguards And Assassins and Kung Fu Killer helmer Teddy Chan is making his entry on New Years Day with the long-awaited epic, Double World. The film was previously dated for late November. Based on the popular pre-existing MMORPG, the film stars Henry Lau in a story that offsets an adventure for a young villager who partakes in a warlord’s competition to reveal the best warriors. If the newest trailer now online is any indication, then the contest looks especially to be something epic and explosive. Monsters and swordmen amuck! Double World also stars Mark Cheng, Peter Ho, Him Law, Lin Chen Han and Jiang Luxia, and is produced by Soi Cheang (The Monkey King 1 & 2). Based on the popular pre-existing MMORPG, the film stars Henry Lau in a story that offsets a harrowing adventure for a young villager who partakes in a warlord’s competition to reveal the best warriors. The first official teaser in June provided an explosive glimpse of what that entails, while the official poster below stands firm for the masses ahead of a November 22 release. The film also stars Mark Cheng, Peter Ho, Him Law, Lin Chen Han and Jiang Luxia, and is produced by Soi Cheang (The Monkey King 1 & 2).

DOUBLE WORLD: Catch The First Teaser For Teddy Chan’s New Fantasy Epic

The first official teaser is out for Teddy Chan’s latest Kung Fu Killer follow-up, Double World. The epic fantasy visual adventure, produced by Soi Cheang (SPL and Monkey King franchises) and based on the popular MMORPG, is set for a November 22 release and joins a cast that lists Peter Ho, Henry Lau, Jiang Luxia and Him Law. Plot details are unknown at this stage until a trade can provide some exact details. At any rate, the footage looks positively amazing and hopefully will bode prospectively for its release given the dented record China has had in the last few years when its come to releasing big-scale fantasy epics like Asura and Nezha.
