With cult director favorite, Quentin Tarantino on his way to San Diego Comic-Con 2015 to present his latest grisled western feat, The Hateful Eight, I suppose now is an excellent time to present a humbling lookback of his career dating back to his earlier resume at Miramax. Leave that to Ginder Factory L.L.C. who will be rolling out a batch of custom posters inspired by his 1994 crime , Pulp Fiction.
For those not in the know, the gist of the film is a mash-up of intertwining stories that intersect between a bookie, his two henchmen, a girl and a washed up boxer in scenarios that see them at some of their worst odds. It’s a story of love, drugs, crime, close encounters with the surreal, spiritual enlightment, and a treasure worth more than what anyone may be worth owning, and there is plenty of blood spilled, broken bones and egos throughout. But more importantly, it’s a story of second chances, one taught brilliantly enough in that it helped Tarantino gain the cult status he’s since earned.
I can see why this would deserve its own poster line. Oh, and by all means, you can buy these now at the official website.
Ginder Factory, LLC features licensed on-set photography from “Pulp Fiction” to order as never-before-sold custom posters, art prints and canvases. Located on GinderFactory.com, the site will also provide custom wall décor for Miramax titles “Kill Bill Volume 1”, “Kill Bill Volume 2” and “Jackie Brown.” These titles will be released later this summer.
Ginder Factory, a custom wall art licensee for Miramax, LLC, will release available prints in installments throughout the summer, highlighting the most iconic scenes from these Quentin Tarantino films.
Customers will also be able to customize their products by adding classic quotes, official film logos and billing blocks, digital frames, and more. Product prices range from $10 to $150, all dependent on the size and product chosen: poster, art print, or canvas.
“Given that just about every ‘Pulp Fiction’ scene is as memorable as the next, we couldn’t have imagined a better film to feature,” Danny McKenzie, creative director for Ginder Factory, said. “We’re able to feature scenes that go way beyond the industry norm. Quentin Tarantino fans are going to appreciate the expanded selection and custom features.”
Although licensed “Pulp Fiction” imagery has been released as poster art, the depth of imagery and variety of high-end print products are revolutionary to the film’s consumer merchandise.
The company’s tagline “Own the Scene” demonstrates their product vision. Rather than selecting from stale, mass-produced poster imagery, Ginder Factory offers a wide selection of on-set photography so that fans can connect with specific characters and scenes—not just the movie as a whole.
“Back in college, all we wanted was a little variety when looking for Pulp Fiction posters to hang on our walls… something that we personally connected with from the film,” Virgil Bonifazi, director of operations for Ginder Factory, said. “As fans, we couldn’t be happier our dream is coming true.”
Launched in October 2014, GinderFactory.com also features custom prints from Miramax films such as “Good Will Hunting”, “Gangs of New York”, “Scream”, and more. Ginder Factory, LLC continues to explore new licensing IP to feature its evolving custom experience for novelty print on-demand merchandise.
The momentum is high for actor Channing Tatum who is on the way with the upcoming wrestling biopic, Foxcatcher and stripper dramedy Magic Mike XXL. According to Deadline, the actor is currently circling a role in director Quentin Tarantino‘s grizzled new western thriller, The Hateful Eight. The film previously underwent heavy rewrites following the drama that initially ensued between Tarantino and Gawker.com who leaked the script prior to a star-studded stage reading of said script at an event for fans back in April.
Filming set to begin in January 2015 in Wyoming with a script tentatively set on a post-Civil War story about mixed bag of bounty hunters and former soldiers trapped in a hotel during a bilzzard; Details are still pending, of course. Provided that Tatum is officially attached, the actor will be joining actresses Zoë Bell and Amber Tamblyn, and actors Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, James Remar, Walt Goggins and others for the film’s production in Wyoming next year. The film will also mark the latest film to be shot on 70mm Cinemascope in 20 years.
Tatum is also attached to 20th Century Fox’s officially announced standalone Gambit film within its current Marvel cinematic universe by way of its X-Men franchise. Stay tuned for more info.
Director Quentin Tarantino is currently in the middle of a second rewrite with a third rewrite on the way for the forthcoming production of his new western, The Hateful Eight. The news of the film’s return to production comes after controversy arose with the leak of Tarantino‘s script through Gawker, which led to two lawsuits – one in January which was dismissed by a judge in April, followed by an amended complaint on May 1.
Last month, with the film on the backburner at the time, Tarantino decided to team up with non-profit organization, Film Independent, to showcase a stage reading of the very script that would have likely been used were it not for Gawker’s leak. Now, it seems Tarantino fans will have something awesome to look forward to at the movies when the cameras start rolling (hopefully on Cinemascope 70mm as previously planned) in Wyoming this November.
Actor Christopher Waltz will not be joining Tarantino for the film, which currently has actresses Zoë Bell and Amber Tamblyn, and actors Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Dern, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, James Remar and Walt Goggins.
As for developments regarding Tarantino’s 2012 Civil War-era love letter to spaghetti western blaxploitation, Django Unchained, Tarantino stirred things up at Cannes last week with mention of applying some unused material for the initial film to a possible 4-part miniseries. Or something, and one could only hope.
