Shortfilm Review: CHAMELEON (2015)

At the time, 2013 saw the launch of a crowdfunding campaign for a spectacular new indie action series titled Streets Of Myth. That particular project is currently on hold, but it did introduce me to the cinematic stylings of filmmaker, actor and martial artist, Beau Fowler, whose strengths in front of the camera dare to equally match behind it as well. It’s been a much longer-than-preferred wait, although it is safe to say that anyone eagerly awaiting the release of Knights Of Badassdom helmer, director and co-writer Joe Lynch‘s new movie, Everly will be nothing short of entertained, as per many of the positive responses stemming from its premiere during this year’s Fantastic Fest. It’s certainly a worthy wait for action film junkies looking to see actress Salma Hayek in one of her sexiest, toughest roles yet in a film often likened to Die Hard for its holiday-themed high-octane thrills, suspenseful story with tons of epic and explosive action to boot. Moviegoers looking forward to seeing Once Upon A Time In Mexico and Savages co-star Salma Hayek become a Yakuza butt-kicking femme fatale in Knights Of Badassdom director Joe Lynch‘s upcoming contained action thriller, Everly, have something to celebrate this week. Reports from the film’s activity at the European Film Festival in Berlin have concluded that Dimension and RADiUS/TWC have snagged the North American rights to the film, co-written by Yale Hannon, and starring Hayek as a down-on-her-luck woman forced to defend herself against swarms of Yakuza assassins sent to torture and kill her when her crime boss lover finds out she’s an FBI informant. Hopefully you are all already subscribed to the project’s official page by now and are clued-in on what’s happening with this amazing ambitious project led by Ansah along with fellow lead actor and co-writer/creator Christian Howard.
