The Wandering Earth 2 is now playing in U.S. theaters from Well Go USA Entertainment. The film will open in UK and Irish cinemas beginning January 27 from Trinity CineAsia. Director Frant Gwo’s The Wandering Earth, the inaugural adaptation of the titular hit novel upon which its brand new sequel out this Chinese New Year is based, ends in such a way that you probably didn’t think it would have a successor. I can’t say this would be the case for those who’ve read the original book, but Gwo gets all the kudos for not only diving deeper into the story this year but also expanding the narrative for everyone who’s been a fan of this screen property for the last four years. Tiger Chen Takes The Sci-Fi Scenic Route In IQIYI Mini-Series, KUNG FU TRAVELER

Don’t expect too hugely to hear more about director Zianfeng Zhang’s latest sci-fi actioner, Kung Fu Traveler. Rising action sensation Tiger Chen headlines the spectacle along with actress Wang Zhi which boasts something of a big deal as a Chinese/Hollywood collaboration in its trailer which aired back in November. That it bears mentioning with Chen’s career progression in the past twenty years whilst working under Master Yuen Woo-Ping and with credits ranging from The Matrix Trilogy to Chen’s own solid acting debut in the kung fu spiritual drama, Man Of Tai Chi, may certainly help here. Indeed, actor and martial artist Tiger Chen who upscaled from stunt performer to leading man status in films like Kung Fu Man in 2012, and Keanu Reeves’s directorial debut, Man Of Tai Chi, is back in the forthcoming action romance sci-fi, Kung Fu Cyborg. Details are pending on the overall plot and story but this looks undoubtedly like a neat little transition for the budding action star who has been at the center of talk for several projects in the past few years, including Jonathan Lim’s Kung Fu Cowboy, announced last year during AFM. Expected to release this December or thereafter, Zhang Xianfeng makes his own directorial debut joining Chen with Drug War co-star, actress Wang Zhi, both of whom can now be seen in the album below with fresh images and posters courtesy of 1905.com.
