Amazon MGM Studios is on deck to galvanize the Jason Statham fandom by the new year with The Beekeeper 2 in January. The sequel to David Ayer’s inaugural 2024 thriller, Statham rejoins with co-stars Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Jeremy Irons. New additions to the sequel include Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland.
Ayer’s The Beekeeper, written by Kurt Wimmer centered on Adam Clay (Statham), an ex-government assassin who trenches back in to avenge the death of a friend at the hands of online phishing scammers. The Umair Aleem-penned sequel continues the story of Clay and his vendetta against those who wronged him.
Directed by Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us, The Shadow Strays), The Beekeeper 2 hails from Statham via his Punch Palace Productions label alongside MGM, Miramax, and Long Shot Productions. Action sequences are headed by stunt coordinator Steve Griffin, and fight coordinators Laurent Buson and Godefroy Ryckwaert.
Leonine Studios are theatrically releasing the film in Germany on January 14, with Amazon MGM Studios rolling out the action sequel in the U.S. and the U.K. on Janaury 15.
