Director Lee Cheuk-Pan left his mark two years ago with grisly coming-of-age teen drama, G Affairs. He’s back this year following up his directing debut with a juicy successor in sultry, seductive crime pic, The Fallen, which now has a Hong Kong release set for May 28 from Emperor Motion Pictures.
The film won Best Actress for Irene Wan at the 8th Silk Road Film Festival in Dublin, Ireland back in January. Signaling her first film role in three years, Wan plays the eldest, once prodigal daughter of a drug kingpin she once escaped years ago. She returns, although little does anyone know past her façade that her presence is part of a much more intricate and dangerous plan to settle an old score from two decades earlier.
The film is being billed as a “gritty and stylish revenge thriller reminiscent of classic Hong Kong crime thrillers”, and has also garnered festival reception in Osaka, Hong Kong and Brussells. It’s a got a new trailer and key art following a halted April release due to Coronavirus concerns this year, and now comes with a new trailer available just above.
The Fallen also stars Kenny Kwan, Hanna Chan, Eddie Chan and Alice Chan.
