The next installment of the Hit List is here for the week of September 16. I actually have to put my five-a-day together after this at some point so this will be a bit rough going between tasks, but hopefully I’ll manage.
For now, Helena Laliberte kicks off this week’s rounds of stunts for The Hit List. Following that are entries featuring a raft of current and up-and-coming stunt performers like Talin Chat, Derek Henning, Gelsey Laurie, Paul Wilk, Eric Fuchs, Evelyn Osrio Vaccaro, Gabe Rios, Brian In, Beverly Provost, Parker Durant, Chase Del Rosario, Chelsea Goldsmith, Adam Sewell, Edward Bossert, Chloe Bruce, Chris Jones, Noah Batenhorst, Louise Fisk, Jamar Flower, Malcolm Washington and Brynn Knickle, with action legend Robert Samuels and a stellar new reel by David No.
We’re junping into the fights and films column of The Hit List and for this, we begin with a small raft of fight choreography concepts bred by George Johnston. Via Novo Studios goes the anime route kicking off the second playlist just below, followed by material from the channels of Bryan Sloyer, Mykola Galagan, Gabeiella Corvina, Taz Garcia and D.L. MacDonald.
Kamen Ramen delves into some Power Ranger fandom in a first of a new fan series followed by action comedy, Bronuts from Jason Troung and Andrew Valdez, the aforementioned Samuels back in a new Art School Dropouts joint with Sharif Anael-Bey, and Céline Richard making her Hit debut from a piece by Jérémy Selenier. Vlad Rimburg shells out another pre-viz piece from his work on Wolf Warrior 2 just before going into the latest from Cam’s Creations with Teleportation vs. Telekinesis.
Zhao Haitao returns to The Hit List with some pre-viz action of his own just before Robin Calvo sets out to prove himself against Samuel Joon Lee in Dropkick To The Chest from Rising Tiger Films, Ellen Wroe flies high in Nicholas Wenger’s The Kid, Chintya Candranaya re-eemergences once more with another Lady Of Fury installment, and Beau Fowler and Sonny Louis finally scrap for all the internet to see in the newly released online short, Express Delivery.
Bookending the playlist is a fourteen-minute delight from a former filmmaker now in the process of re-releasing his body of work online. For this, I’m picking 2002 short, Title Pending 2 from legendary stunt team Zero Gravity, a team among many that serve as the bread and butter for what inspired me to write about and promote action movies in the first place back in 2008.
(A number of these cats are still in the field, by the way. I even met two of these cool dudes in person. If I were you, I advise you click here and do your research.)
Enjoy the hits!
