THE REMAINDERS: Derek Kolstad-Penned Revenge Thriller Adds To Syllabus For Rakuten H Collective Launch
Screenwriter Derek Kolstad is adding to his roster once again for the forseeable with two-handed revenge thriller, The Remainders. Trade sources have all confirmed Kolstad is screenwriting the project, which remains a mystery as far as distinct plot details go, while listed among the now burgeoning production and distribution slate at newly-formed Rakuten H Collective Studio as of Thursday.
The label was formed from Japan’s Rakuten and L.A.- based H Collective, and will steer in-house film production and financing, IP management. The company has also adjoined to the additionally formed Rakuten Distribution, aimed at targeting Japanese releases of projects produced by H Collective, including summer horror hit, Brightburn.
Kolstad was recently added to the crew for development of Falcon And The Winter Soldier for Disney+ and is also penning the fourth consecutive John Wick film opening from Lionsgate i.n 2021. (Variety)
