THE SADNESS: A Breakdown Of The Blood-Flooded, Hyper-Violent NSFW Trailer For Rob Jabbaz’s Explosive New Horror
Since writing for this awesome website, I’ve seen many trailers. Sometimes I request to write up particular ones before other writers can claim them, sometimes they are sent to me by the editor because he thinks a film would be my cup of tea. So when he sent me the trailer for The Sadness, which all I could see from a still was that it was some kind of horror film, I eagerly clicked play. There is no other way to write about this trailer than to give you a play by play of my thoughts:
At the start:
This is a slow opening. There is a couple in an apartment. Hmm. Maybe the building is haunted?
19 seconds:
Okay, we are in a subway now. A tight, cramped place with too many strangers. This could be interesting.
27 seconds:
She rejects a stranger who oversteps by touching her. He gets upset and asks what is wrong with people these days. Yes, sir, what is wrong with you that you think it is okay to touch a stranger? No. You keep your hands to yourself. Oh, what if he is “the bad guy”?
37 seconds:
Why does a seemingly blind man have a knife?
39 seconds:
Oh no! Why did the blind guy do that!?
46 seconds:
This is a lot of blood and I have no idea what is happening.
55 seconds:
Great. Creepy stranger is still alive.
1:02:
Wait. It’s not just the blind guy that’s affected or infected? What is going on!?
1:04-1:06
Seriously. What is going on? What is this “sadness”?
1:19
I need answers for all this madness.
1:21
This is a zombie movie!?
1:25
I need to know what happens here. What kind of zombies are these?
1:36
Seriously. Can someone get rid of this creepy guy?
End of trailer.
What did I just watch and how can I see this movie? I have so many questions and I hope that the film answers them all.
In case you are wondering what in the heck I am writing about, here is the link to Rob Jabbaz’s latest film out of sales agent, Raven Banner Entertainment:
The Sadness – Trailer from Raven Banner on Vimeo.
After a year of combating a pandemic with relatively benign symptoms, a frustrated nation finally lets its guard down. This is when the virus spontaneously mutates, giving rise to a mind-altering plague. The streets erupt into violence and depravity, as those infected are driven to enact the cruelest and ghastly things they can think of. Murder, torture, rape, and mutilation are only the beginning. A young couple is pushed to the limits of sanity as they try to reunite amid the chaos. The age of civility and order is no more.
There is only “The Sadness”.
Come back and let me know what you think of the trailer. Oof! Hat tip to Screen Anarchy!
