THE SURGEON: Michelle Yeoh Action Thriller Lands At Sony For NA
Director Roshan Sethi, M.D.’s new action thriller, The Surgeon starring Michelle Yeoh, reportedly stirred up a competitive situation at Toronto’s TIFF Market floor this month; News comes following the film’s World Premiere at the 51st edition of Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.
In the fast-paced, pulse pounding, Thin Lizzy infused soundtrack action pic, Yeoh plays an expert surgeon who is abducted and forced to operate on a mysterious patient, only to turn 35 years of surgical expertise against her captors and outwit them in a fight for survival.
The Surgeon has since landed at Sony Pictures for North America, along with distributors for Latin America, Italy, China, and Hong Kong, according to the trades on Tuesday. Also starring are Martin Freeman, Laurie Davidson, Yuri Kolokolnikov, and Joseph Mydell.
Production hails from Tango and John Wick label Thunder Road. 193, a Legendary company, is handling international sales.
