THE TRIP: Cast Announced As Jorma Taccone Sets Sail For English Language Remake Of 2021 Norwegian Thriller
Filming is underway in Tampere, Finland for Jorma Taccone’s (Pop Star: Never Stop Stopping, MacGruber, SNL) new thriller, The Trip. Actors Jason Segel, Samara Weaving, Timothy Olyphant, and Juliette Lewis are starring from a script by Nick Kocher and Brian McElhaney, which re-envisions Tommy Wirkola’s Norwegian 2021 thriller of the same name.
Here, Segel and Weaving play a dysfunctional couple who head to a remote cabin to “reconnect,” but each has secret intentions to kill the other. Rounding out the cast are Paul Guilfoyle, and UFC Octagon legend Keith Jardine.
XYZ is financing and producing alongside 87North’s Kelly McCormick (The Fall Guy, Bullet Train, the Nobody franchise), Lee Kim (Dual, Get Away), and Guy Danella (Violent Night, Love Hurts). Taccone and Wirkola are exec producing with Karen Gillan co-producing. 74 Entertainment’s Jørgen Storm Rosenberg and Kjetil Omberg who produced the original are also on board and exec producing.
The movie is a recipient of production incentives from Business Finland, The City of Tampere and Film Tampere. Films Films Films is providing production services.
