THUG IN A SUIT/DESPERADO (西装暴徒) Review: Relentless Driven Vengeance Action Feature of pleasing Flavor
Danny Chan (Shaolin Soccer, Ip Man 3) gets rid of his eternal Bruce Lee personifications to get into the skin of a dangerous skillful man in violence, who after serve an unjust condenm in prison, returns driven by vengeance to avenge the death of his wife and daugher. At the same time, he becomes the protector of a 9-year old girl, who without knowing, carries an important information that could put behind bars a corrupt politician.
With the flavor of John Wick or Hiroyuki Sanada´s starring Japanese action classic “Roaring Fire”, Danny Chan fights his way leaving a bloody trail of bruises, broken bones and stylized ballistic action, in a relentless action-packed web film that despite the low budget, and the persistence to shoot in a studio instead of outdoors, offers a very digestible dose of good action cinema, with Danny Chan exuding charisma, having very good chemistry with the protagonist girl, in a simple but effective story that includes some plot twists that makes the plot interesting until the very end.
The film is available on Iqiyi streaming platform since January 18th.
