Tom Holland To Star In Sony’s UNCHARTED Adaptation Pending Rewrites
While Sony Pictures ramps up Jon Watts’s forthcoming release of Spider-Man: Homecoming, apparently the studio isn’t making light of its current opportunity with the long-awaited the development of Naughty Dog game adaptation, Uncharted. Apparently following a screening of the new Marvel movie reboot, studio chief Tom Rothman is keen on hoisting actor Tom Holland to take the mantle in a younger version of game character Nathan Drake.
Incidentally, the film will take its cues from the third installment of the uncharted franchise, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (2011) in which young Drake, years before he became the infamous treasure hunter of the franchise, crosses paths with Victor “Sully” Sullivan who would become Drake’s best friend and mentor. Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner and Ari Arad are producing the film from a new script pending the attachment of a new writer following that of Joe Carnahan and Eric Warren Singer among several others.
