Vigilante Thriller EL CHICANO Unleashed In A New Proof-Of-Concept Video
I normally try to spot some of these in full on YouTube but it’s a bit early in the game for this particular find. You can especially thank writing duo, producer Joe Carnahan and stunt multi-hyphenate Ben Bray for lending perhaps the closest we’ll see to footage in an unveiled proof-of-concept for Bray’s forthcoming directorial debut, El Chicano.
Set in East L.A., El Chicano is centered on a cop drawn into the exploits of a mysterious crime fighting vigilante while investigating his ex-con brother’s death. The following proof-of-concept was directed by Bray for $2,000 to help showcase earlier on how the concept would look on camera, plush with stimulating nightlife club scene fight action indicative of pretty much everyone’s favorite action franchse, with Damien Bray behind the lens and Film Combat Syndicate favorite, stunt performer, action actor and filmmaker Bryan Sloyer front and center as our conceptual title vigilante.
The proof-of-concept is uploaded in two parts.
El Chicano stars Raúl Castillo along with George Lopez, Aimee Garcia, Emilio Rivera, David Castañeda, Marlene Forte, Jose Pablo Cantillo and Sal Lopez. The film is set to premiere at the L.A. Film Festival which kicks off on September.
Bray makes his feature directorial debut on El Chicano from a script he wrote with Carnahan who is producing the film via WarParty with Frank Grillo and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
