Watch The Latest Intense Trailer For Netflix Series Original, MARCO POLO
Actor Lorenzo Richelmy is a new face for the average television viewer, but he’s clearly proven himself to be a great pick for series creator and producer John Fusco in the title role of Netflix’s newest series, Marco Polo. The series is another foray into quality storytelling for mature audiences who have grown an affinity for original programming like that of The Tudors and Game Of Thrones, filled with a mix of intrigue, sex and danger at every turn. Here, that formula is set amidst 13th century China as the backdrop for our story as Polo begins his servitude at the behest of the court of Emperor Kublai Khan. And simply put, the rest is history…
A teaser arrived a few months back highlighting the scope of the series, and now Netflix has since offered a new trailer that unveils just how it all begins. The series is also being produced by The Weinstein Company co-chairman Harvey Weinstein and Game Of Thrones series director Dan Minahan, in addition to Pirates Of The Carribean 5 helmers Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg who are directing the first few of the nine-episode series for U.S. distribution. Richelmy is joined by actor Amr Waked and actress Zhu Zhu, and actors Benedict Wong, Tom Wu, Remy Hii and Rick Yune rounding out the principle cast with stunt coordinator Brett Chan directing the action.
Watch the new trailer and check out a featurette for the series which gets its day on Netflix beginning on December 12, 2014.
