The third and what I presume to believe is the final official trailer for Academy Award-winning director Robert Zemeckis’ Welcome to Marwen is now out, and surprisingly, this one’s based on a 2010 documentary called Marwencol which earned rafts of praise and multiple awards and nominations from festivals in America to Canada, Belgium and Ireland.
The documentary trailer definitely indicates the kind of profusion worth building on and you can check that out here for your own absorption. Steve Carell stars in Zemeckis’ story of inspiration also exec produced by Jeff Malmberg -the director of the documentary – anf with a great cast presented in both human and doll form per the film’s immersive and intriguing narrative and setting.
When a devastating attack shatters Mark Hogancamp (Carell) and wipes away all memories, no one expected recovery. Putting together pieces from his old and new life, Mark meticulously creates a wondrous town where he can heal and be heroic. As he builds an astonishing art installation—a testament to the most powerful women he knows—through his fantasy world, he draws strength to triumph in the real one.
In a bold, wondrous and timely film from this revolutionary pioneer of contemporary cinema, Welcome to Marwen shows that when your only weapon is your imagination…you’ll find courage in the most unexpected place.
