WWII Revenge Thriller, RUIN, Casts Robbie And Schoenaerts

Margot Robbie, currently starring in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, is now set to join Assassin’s Creed Helmer Justin Kurzel for WWII thriller, Ruin. As Deadline reports, will headline next to actor Matthias Schoenaerts from a script by Ryan and Matthew Firpo with Marc Butan of MadRiver Pictures is producing alongside Kurzel.
Ruin is set to commence filming early next year in Prague, set in the ruins of post-WWII where a Holocaust survivor (Robbie) reluctantly forms an unlikely alliance with an ex-SS captain (Schoenaerts) to hunt down the surviving members of the captain’s former Nazi death squad. The film is described as something in the vein of gritty period revenge thrillers like Inglorious Basterds and Fury.
Reports on the film previously took shape stirring mention of actress Gal Gadot who is still readying her next marquee role on Patty Jenkins’ sequel, Wonder Woman 1984.
MadRiver’s Ara Keshishian is executive producing Ruin with co-financiers Nik Bower and Deepak Nayar of Riverstone Pictures. CAA Media Finance reportedly packaged the film and is handling the U.S. rights with IMR claiming foreign sales.
Robbie will next appear in Mary Queen of Scots as Elizabeth I for Focus Features next to actress Saoirse Ronan. She also has a hand in the DCEU at Warner Bros. having memorably played Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad as the characrer now sets her sights on director Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey.
