
The good news being, delightfully, that nothing’s stopped David Leitch from surging onward with Bullet Train, an adaptation of Kotaro Isaka’s 2010 Kadokawa Shoten publication “Maria Bettle”.
Brad Pitt was the first to be cast for the Sony Pictures action thriller penned by Zak Olkewicz, heading a roster that also includes Andrew Koji, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry. As of Friday, folks keeping up can now add Deadpool 2, Seberg and Joker actress Zazie Beetz to the table of players.
Plot details are very vague though recurring loglines enlist the following: “Five assassins aboard a fast moving bullet train find out their missions have something in common”; The Wrap notes the film is “described as a contained thriller in the vein of Speed and Non-Stop.
As Deadline‘s Justin Kroll reports, the actress is currently filming The Harder They Fall with Samuel L. Jackson for Netflix.
Kelly McCormick will produce through 87North, along with Antoine Fuqua. Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada of CTB Inc., who represent Isaka and the IP, are exec producing on the action thriller with Kat Samick, and Brittany Morrissey is the executive overseeing for Sony.
