Afterworld Saga ALONG WITH THE GODS Is In Line For Two New Sequels, Plus Spin-Offs And Prequels
Hat tip over to Pierce Conran at Modern Korean Cinema who brings word that two more films will shoot back-to-back next year further encompassing Kim Yong-Hwa’s Along With The Gods saga. Cast and crew details remain pending while the new sequels will venture into prequel and spin-off territory based on Joo Ho-Min’s 2010 webtoon series.
Along With The Gods kicked off with The Two Worlds, releasing late last year and overseas in early 2018. Featuring Cha Tae-Yun as a firefighter who dies earlier on, the film tells of the elusive, afterworld mystery, intrigue and danger surrounding a trio of guardian reapers who reluctantly aid in human affairs as our protagonist faces seven hellbound trials to test his purity.
Releasing on August 1 in South Korea, several select cast are reprising for the current upcoming sequel dubbed The Last 49 Days, including Ha Jung-Woo, Kim Hyang-Gi, Ju Ji-Hoon, Don Lee and Lee Jung Jae with Kim Dong-Wook also starring.
