Six new stills are online from Ranjeet S. Marwa’s upcoming action thriller, Exiled: The Chosen Ones, which you can check out in the gallery above. Written and directed by Marwa, the film centers on Hiro (Sunny Pang), a cold and calculating Yakuza hitman forced to compete for his life among a row of society’s worst criminals, in a deadly game devised by a corporate cabal overseeing a nefarious population control scheme, while the rich place their bets. Principal photography wrapped last month in Birmingham, U.K.. The film is now in post-production with release plans brewing for 2021. Aimed as a return to his creature horror roots, The Lair centers on Kate Sinclair, a Royal Air Force pilot Lieutenant whose final flight mission sees her jet shot down over one of the most dangerous rebel strongholds of Afghanistan. After finding refuge in an abandoned underground bunker where deadly man-made biological, carnivorous half human/alien weapons are awakened, Sinclair barely escapes. It is being billed as an English-language action trilogy and is being produced by Jaa, along with Peter Luo (Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark) and Mike Selby (Triple Threat). The Lingering director Mak Ho-pong is back with a look at his newest action crime pic, Breakout Brothers. Mandarin Motion Pictures just presented the title for this year’s virtual Busan market and is expected to release the film in Hong Kong from December 3. Edmond Wong and Ng Kin-hung penned the film which centers on “three prisoners who each have their own reasons for plotting a prison break” (via Variety). Starring are P Storm actors Patrick Tam, Louis Cheung, Adam Pak and Justin Cheung, and Cold War 2 actor Kenny Wong.

Like with most of the festivals this year, good folks over at Fighting Spirit Film Festival have had to harness plenty of its own spirit to try and mitigate its 2020 events through the global Covid-19 pandemic. As of late though, the festival has resolved to a one-day presentation that’s already fully-loaded and brimming with some promising titles, all screening at Premiere Cinemas in Romford with Covid-19 safety protocols in place. Nekotronic director Alister Grierson’s latest, Bloody Hell, has had a riotous run for its festival circuitry, including screening for the inaugural Nightstream Film Festival, and you can check out our own reception by clicking here. Yes, I rather enjoyed it, and I’m certain I’m not alone, and it’s a smart move for the guys at The Horror Collective who will proudly be releasing the film through their Entertainment Squad shingle in select theaters and drive-ins, and on demand beginning January 14, 2021. A man with a mysterious past flees the country to escape his own personal hell – only to arrive somewhere much, much worse.
