Folks in North America looking forward to more musings from the far East needn’t look further than writer and director Nishikori Yoshinari’s new movie, Tatara Samurai. The film, which opens in Japan on May 20, is riding a wave of purely awesome and upworthy press following festival screenings and award wins throughout the globe, and with a raft of events already incurred in the states. LOGAN: Walmart Exclusive 4K Blu-Ray Special Features Announced

Director James Mangold’s Spring hit, Logan, is still a thing going into May as fans await the pending one-day re-release of Logan Noir, a re-graded black and white version. May 16 is the date by when fans of the film can also expect its arrival on Digital HD a week before its planned 4K, Ultra HD and Blu-Ray release on May 23 which will also contain the aforementioned black and white version of the movie. Additionally, the Blu-Ray will be made exclusively available to Walmart consumers, and with other ample special features to accomodate the Blu-Ray package. TRIPLE FRONTIER: Netflix In Play With Affleck Bros. To Possibly Star

It was back in February that a trio of actors boarded J.C. Chandor’s action drama, Triple Frontier from Paramount. Long in development with Kathryn Bigelow once tapped to helm long prior, was a project nearing a production weeks away with Channing Tatum, Tom Hardy and Mahershala Ali all tapped to star until Paramount dropped along with the Tatum and Hardy – reportedly due to script issues. Deadline is now reporting that talks have been underway to keep the project alive and the word now is that Netflix may very well be its saving grace with Affleck sibs, Ben and Casey possibly to star. The logline is unknown for the film which is scripted by Mark Boal and reportedly focuses on unstable criminal activities along junctioning rivers at the border between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. In keeping up with the spirit of live-action adaptation overload, actor Kubota Masataka is the latest addition to the list of those heading a film of his own with the new movie, Tokyo Ghoul. Vine Beefs Up With Acqusition Of Manchester Film Library

Paramount Pictures Vine Alternative Investments (“Vine”) has announced its second transaction this month with the acquisition of Manchester Library Company LLC (“Manchester”). The deal gives Vine a diverse slate of 30 theatrically released films which generated approximately $1.5 billion in worldwide box office receipts and includes notable films such as Limitless, Immortals, The Fighter, Dear John and The Strangers. The acquisition complements Vine’s portfolio of library assets and follows its April 2017 acquisition of a controlling interest in Village Roadshow Entertainment Group (VREG).  Stated Jim Moore, CEO of Vine: “The Manchester transaction reinforces Vine’s strategy to leverage and parlay our expertise in managing and owning scalable entertainment assets.
