Ben Affleck In Talks To Play A Mild-Mannered Killer In THE ACCOUNTANT
|Ben Affleck in THE TOWN (2010)|
If this film turns out to be better than expected, there’s no way I’m passing this up.
Actor Ben Affleck is still in charge of helping bring Bruce Wayne to life in the March 25, 2016 release of director Zack Synder’s Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice for Warner Bros. In the meantime, while the actor is still campaigning for his most recent murder mystery thriller, Gone Girl, filmgoers can already look forward to seeing him in what sounds like something potentially interesting for action fans with the forthcoming production of The Accountant.
Warrior (2011) helmer Gavin O’Connor is being tapped to direct the film from an original script by original script by Bill DuBuque, which Variety says will center on a mild-mannered accountant who moonlights as a lethal assassin. It’s all very early right now so anyone’s guess is as good as mine as to how the studio will present this film; Hopefully it will be another badass actioner to remember, especially with films like the Taken trilogy, the next two Bourne films and The Equalizer, the latter which is already picking up enough steam for a sequel. Like always however, time will tell.
Kevin Scott Frakes, Lynette Howell, Raj Brinder Singh and Mark Williams are producing the film, with a likely for a release next year. Gone Girl opens this Friday.
