BREAKING NEWS: Tony Jaa Has Been Offered A Role In The KICKBOXER Reboot
Quite a bit of time has passed with a lot of things happening in the world of film since the official announcement confirmed the forthcoming production of the new Kickboxer reboot from Radar Pictures back in May. While things appear to be moving forward in their tentative state, the film has already begun showing some areas of promise with Tai Chi 0 and Tai Chi Hero helmer Stephen Fung on board to direct, the new film which centers on the reintroduction of protagonist, Kurt Sloan, who sets out to Thailand and finds himself on an epic quest to avenge the death of his champion brother, David, at the hands of the brutal killer Tong Po.
Current casting shows a meaty line-up of prominent athletic actors, including world-renowned martial artist and stuntman Alain Moussi, whose own addition to the film has been in the making for the past few years. Actors Georges St. Pierre (Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and Dave Bautista (Guardians Of The Galaxy), round out the cast of the new film with previous reports of premier action choreographer Larnell Stovall working on the film’s fight sequences. However, the film still has some casting shoes left to fill, which now brings word that international action star Tony Jaa has been offered to star alongside Moussi, with more integral role for the character Xian Chow, the martial arts master who trains our hero – previously performed in the 1989 original movie by actor Dennis Chan.
Officially, Jaa has not yet signed on for the role as the film inches closer to the start of its Fall/Winter shooting schedule, although it looks possible as the Ong Bak star continues to spread his wings with several other films on deck for next year. Those titles include (but are not limited to) the yet-to-be-announced release dates for Skin Trade and the current production of SPL 2: A Time For Consequences, and Jaa’s debut Hollywood role in the April 3, 2015 release of Fast And Furious 7.
Stay tuned for more info and be sure to follow Jaa on Facebook as things develop!

Tony Jaa is beyond wasting his time playing the "sidekick" or any supporting role. He should only take roles if he's the lead at this stage in his career.
