AOF FEST 2018: Alexander Nevsky Wins Big And Plenty For MAXIMUM IMPACT

In the days and hours since the Action On Film International Film Festival in Las Vegas, crossover actor and producer Alexander Nevsky has been riding on ceremomy touting his latest accolades for his upcoming action thriller, Maximum Impact. The Andrzej Bartkowiak-directed action comedy won awards for Best Action Sequence, Best Special Effects and most significantly, for Best Action Film of the Year. The author, journalist and former bodybuilding champion also received his Breakout Action Star award as hailed weeks ago along with actor Matthias Hues who accepted an Icon Award. Nevsky stars in Maximum Impact with Mark Dacascos, Tom Arnold, Kelly Hu and Danny Trejo. John Woo: ‘My Dream Is To Make A Western’

It’s almost surprising that acclaimed action auteur John Woo hasn’t found himself in the throes of a Western film production yet. It’s not for lack of trying either considering his willful transition in the early 1990s to work on Universal Pictures’ Hard Boiled and enduring through a great deal of bureaucracy to release his cut of the film; It’s imaginable that this could have been a stepping stone toward that goal at the time for Woo in his post-Hong Kong career, although relocating to China after several productions in the U.S. made it pretty clear that at least tentatively, it wasn’t meant to be. Netflix’s September Line-Up Is Looking Rad As F*ck With IRON FIST S2, BLACK PANTHER, BLEACH and More!

I’m over the moon this week. It’s been a bit mundane with Netflix in the last several months. Recently however, the additions of new Shaw Bros. titles to its roster have given me hope, and September is starting to look even better going by its new calendar promo. Granted the line-up is the usual mix of many tastes, but there is definitely something for those in particular who read sites like mine. Definitely looking forward to Iron Fist: Season Two and the arrival of Marvel’s Black Panther is surely something to keep in mind. Jeremy Saulnier’s Hold The Dark is especially one that will suit audiences later in the month and the official trailer looks every bit appealing. GINTAMA 2 Is Out In Japan, And Kagura Can’t Sleep

Writer and director Fukuda Yuichi is fully staking his claim in the live-action end of things for Warner Bros. Japan’s Gintama 2 these days. The sequel to last year’s feature film hit adaptation is now playing in Japan theaters while the latest dTV mini-drama is now out with a clip that sees our heroine Kagura unable to fall asleep. This particular story stems from episode 153 of the anime titled “Sleep Helps A Child Grow”. Hashimoto Kanna repises her role next to fellow principal star Oguri Shun, both who star along with Suda Masaki as the trio on the frontlines of the films whose story sees a trio of odd jobbers accustoming to life in Edo after the colonization of Amanto. Director Vasan Bala has several credits in many facets for the film projects he’s worked on – namely in screenwriting and assistant directing aspects. César Award winning actress Mélanie Laurent (Beginners, Inglorious Bastards) and Payman Maadi (The Night Of, A Separation, 13 Hours) are the latest additions to the ensemble cast of the upcoming action film, 6 Underground. The film hails from Netflix and Skydance Media with prolific Transformers franchise helmer Michael Bay in his first pairing with starring actor and Deadpool franchise star Ryan Reynolds.
