‘The Raid’ Director Gareth Huw Evans’ APOSTLE Debuts A Grim First Poster

Nerdist took to the interwebs to present an exclusive look at the first official poster for upcoming horror thriller, Apostle. It’s the first new-anything since the first still went viral as of May and here with Dan Stevens leading the way and famed Merantau, The Raid and The Raid 2 helmer Gareth Huw Evans directing. London, 1905. Prodigal son Thomas Richardson (Dan Stevens) has returned home, only to learn that his sister is being held for ransom by a religious cult. Determined to get her back at any cost, Thomas travels to the idyllic island where the cult lives under the leadership of the charismatic Prophet Malcolm (Michael Sheen). As Thomas infiltrates the island’s community, he learns that the corruption of mainland society that they claim to reject has infested the cult’s ranks nonetheless – and uncovers a secret far more evil than he could have imagined. HUNTER KILLER Wages High-Stakes War On Land And Sea In The Official Trailer

It’s fair to say at this point that director Donovan Marsh’s new submarine war thriller, Hunter Killer, has seen quite its share of drama by now. The residual upheaval from the fallout at Relativity Media over bankruptcy in the last three years has since landed the film a new home at Summit Premiere with a theatrically release set for October 26. Deep under the Arctic Ocean, American submarine Captain Joe Glass (Gerard Butler, Olympus Has Fallen, 300) is on the hunt for a U.S. sub in distress when he discovers a secret Russian coup is in the offing, threatening to dismantle the world order. With crew and country on the line, Captain Glass must now assemble an elite group of Navy SEALs to rescue the kidnapped Russian president and sneak through enemy waters to stop WWIII. Arne L. Schmidt and Jamie Moss adapted the screenplay from the novel “Firing Point” […]

Zhang Yimou Casts SHADOW With A Stunning New Trailer And Character Posters

Majestic drama, action and watercolor aesthetics are the eye-pleasing theme for director Zhang Yimou’s new wuxia epic, Shadow. The film is currently readying a September 30 release and a new official trailer is now in our midst and presented in stunning and gorgeous fashion. Director Zhang Yimou’s reimagining of a classic Three Kingdoms epic, the action/drama SHADOW tells the story of a great King and his people who have been displaced from their homeland and long to win it back. The King is wild and ambitious, but his motives and methods are mysterious. His great general is a visionary who fervently desires to win the ultimate battle, but needs to lay his plans in secret. STREGA: Bueno’s ‘Gun Caliber’ Sequel Wraps Principal Photography

It’s been nearly a decade into the filmmaking journey that brought fans the release of tokusatsu cult hit, Gun Caliber. Since then, maverick director Bueno has been hard at work maintaining content for the toku crowd through his independent film portal on YouTube, Garage Hero, while also developing, and just shy of three years ago, rolling cameras for the Gun Caliber sequel, Strega, which, for all intents and purposes will hopefully spur a 2019 release. Bueno stirred the pot quite a bit in 2014 with Gun Caliber, introducing the world of suit hero fandom to a noticeably more R-rated protagonist akin to the likes of Deadpool compared to other mainstream Japanese suit action heroes. The actor and film-multihyphenate starred in the title role as well, portraying Soma Kusanagi, a miserable Smartball Parlor employee who transforms into the titular gun-toting, dick-shooting, sex-crazed, alcoholic and often derilect superhero who “loves his bullets […]

Erik Matti’s BUYBUST Brandishes New U.S. Poster Art

Fans are less than a month between now and the first week and a half of August between moviegoers in The Philippines and North America awaiting the theatrical release of Erik Matti’s new crime thriller, BuyBust. There are already a plethora of trailers running out and about and so I’m not entirely sure if there will be another going forward. Alas, Well Go USA has its own teaser trailer running as well as its own teaser poster for that matter, but they’ve since upped the ante a bit in the wake of Reality and Viva’s own main artwork now running online ahead of an August 1 release overseas. U.S. and Canada will get dibs starting on August 10 and for that, we have ourselves some brand new poster art to show off. After surviving the slaughter of her entire squad in a drug raid compromised by dirty cops, anti-narcotics special […]
