Featuring performances by Kimberly Frutoz, Antonia Timbol, and Courtney Morrill
I miss The Hit List, so I got up the motivation over the weekend to sift for some stunt reels. I found 50. 🙌🏽
It’s usually the case that when the right people come together to create something cool, cool things happen. David Lavallee Jr. and stunt players Tricia Guarin and Justin Carney have combined their efforts from a concept by both performers now host to new action comedy bit, Dishing It Out which is now online for your viewing pleasure. Of course, do your chores first, THEN relax and watch!
This isn’t necessarily a return to the good old days of The Hit List, as much as I miss doing it since shelving it in 2020. A lot of folks are making good use of their own social mediums to proliferate themselves on top of YouTube whose parameters also tend to restrict me from adding some content to playlists. At any rate, I was in a mood to make an albeit brief detour into the world of professionals – the training and emerging stunt and screenfighting talents behind the scenes working on a lot of what you and I enjoy in film and television, especially if you read this site. This is just a rough gathering of selections from the past month and throughout the year and, just maybe, if things are a bit more consistent going forward, then I can probably make this a monthly thing to help folks […]
Actor Lewis Tan’s latest undertaking now comes in shortform with upcoming shortfilm project, Bad Fish. The actor recently wrapped principal photography on his latest project and posted several behind-the-scenes photos from the set taken by Ben Tan and Kat Holt. There isn’t much info running out and about until further notice so it’ll be interesting to see what Tan and his cast have in store. Tan recently wrapped Simon McQuoid’s Mortal Kombat which bows April 16, 2021 in theaters, IMAX, and on HBO Max. View this post on Instagram A post shared by LEWIS TAN (@lewistanofficial) The good folks at Bat In The Sun have since premiered the first poster for upcoming Batman fan film project, Dying Is Easy. Actor Kevin Porter dons the cape and cowl once again for the online Batfandom opposite Aaron Schoenke who also wrote and directed the pic with Sean Schoenke, and with Michael Madsen […]
It’s been a long time coming for those of you who waited to see if the Hit List would return. Welp, if only for a different pace than usual, I can most certainly say that it is. And to start, as always, is a hefty playlist of stunt reels by some of today’s best and brightest of their field, beginning with Alyma Dorsey who just recently earned a new notch on her belt for her first stunt coordinator credit on a new shortfilm project coming soon. Following Dorsey are Bethany Curry, Bryan Vigier, Amy Sturdivant, Daisy Fryer, Girvan Bramble, Malin Kirjonen, Brittania Fader, Rodney Alexandre, Erin Haus, Devyn LaBella, Braxton McAllister, Jackie Gerhardy, Ilana Collins, Dee Yoon, Ilyana Eberhardt, Liu Yaxi and Thom Williams, and exhilirating stunt and fight coordinator reels by J.J. Perry, Airon Armstrong, Vincent Wang and Evan Dane Taylor. We got trailers as well! Two of them, […]
On the precipice of my second film festival coverage-loaded summer, The Hit List will be taking a brief hiatus until further notice. Alas, I’m happy to be able to put together this tentatively last hoorah while I get things in order on the writing end. For now, time to cast a spotlight on some of today’s top and up-and-coming stunt performers with a round of demo and training reels featuring the following: Rorelee Tio, Jay Kwon, Jeff Budner, Gabriel Rios, Kenneth Wolf, Michelle Fisichella, Freddy John James, Joel Fridman-Rojas, Paul Hampshire, Masato Di Santo, Sara Beko, and Eli Johnson following up with a performance and coordinator reel, as well as Michael Quach with a coordinator reel. It’s been a while since we heard from David Conk at Wolf Stunts but now he’s back on radar with Devin Reagan and co. for Mercenario Brothers which should be out soon, and the […]
I’ve been doing The Hit List for about five-and-a-half years, and so I can’t help but consider the timely fashion in which I’ve managed to help catalogue a library of my own through the support and endorsement of filmmakers and indie action cinema creatives alike. If The Hit List has done anything for you, personally since then, or even from the start of this crazy year what with a pandemic and so much unrest, feel free to comment at me on Facebook or Twitter if you’d like to share some blurbs. Otherwise, there’s more to share this week, so let’s get to it! Jérémy Margallé kicks off the stunt reel playlist just below, followed by reels courtesy of Seth Frase, Jess Blaq, Brandon Yates, Eric Linden, Rufio Luey, Jennifer Mitchell, Luke Davis, Oscar Fernandez, Andrea VanEpps, Dimitri Melenevskiy and Sofia Mathilde, followed by reels from Joon Poore’s JP Stunts, and […]
This next installment of the Hit List took some effort since not a lot of folks are filming anything right now, and I’m not really sure how things will look in the next few weeks seeing as Coronavirus is still lingering throughout the country. For now, we’re rich with plenty of stunt reels courtesy of Andy Le, Shiela Quevedo Cano, Terence Julien, Keilani Mussetter, Anthony Heilmann, Oscar Leiva, Taylor Krasne, Paul Hawk, Angela Sippel, Darin Hicks, Damali Ross, YouTuber Mikestarwalker, Gabriel Rios, Justin Sundquist, April Taft, Oscar Fernandez, Maria Gnecci, and a twofer by Alfred Hsing and his team at East West Action Stunts. Rounding out the playlist are coordinator reels courtesy of Juan Bofill and Olivier Schneider. There isn’t much to promote this week, save for a few trailers. First up is the promo for The In-House Grindhouse II, hosted by Art School Dropouts and launching on June 20. […]
The newest installment of The Hit List is now live for the week of June 1 through the next few weeks, and heading out of the starting line is Tamiko Brownlee for this week’s stunt playlist, followed by reels featuring Sean Gallagher, Justin Robinson, Sierra Heuermann, Ivan Forlani, Kenny Lorenzetti, Beth Williams, Gerard Mármol, Jesse Frietze, Liparit Ambartsumyan, Jamie Chambers, Nino Deys, Eric R. Lim, and a stellar reel hosting the work of one Brad Allan! There’s nothing to promote at the moment until otherwise, so it’s onward and forward to the action with channel entries courtesy of Haruki Yoshida, Adam Brashaw, Marko Zaror, and a pair of stellar quarantine action montages by Victoria Lee and co., and Russia’s own StuntFX. Ty Hunt delivers ReAction in the next vid before we get some Penny Dreadful pre-viz action from Vlad Rimburg and John Cihangir bunks with shortfilm sequel Roomie 2, Ben […]
As you’re reading this, I had to get this installment of The Hit List on the day of! Definitely didn’t have much time this weekend, or energy for that matter to be honest. And frankly, Sky Atlantic/Cinemax series Gangs Of London hasn’t yet arrived, and so I’m going without looking at stunt coordinator Jude Poyer‘s latest reel as it kicks off this edition of The Hit List, although I’m certain you’ll enjoy it. The remainder of stunt and demo reel entries come courtesy of Molly Miller, Michel Quach, Matt de Souza, David Lenz, Grace Dougall, Gregory Balzi, Dylan Hintz, Gaetan Caillot, Katrina Leigh Waters, Mandalin Dragan, Dan Carter, Stephen Bodi, Veera Seppälä, Yann Brouet, Genís Lama, Haruki Yoshida, Hayley Wright, Veto Swarm and Kristoffer Jørgensen, and Pirates Project out of Japan. The last several days have been a bit of a drag but I’m looking toward easing myself back into posting norms, and as always, The Hit List is a good motivator! Watson, Cyril Tellier, Kaitlin Abendroth, Mykola Galagan, Daniele Balconi, Céline Richard, Micaiah Chau, Silvio Gamboa, Fatih Ugurlu, Xanthia Marinelli, Andy Taylor, Kenny Lorenzetti, and Kyro Wavebourne, followed by an awesome parkour medley from Gurpreet Rawat, and an extensive look into the work of stunt coordinator Lauro Chartrand. Moving along with a little something to promote is the first official poster for Dogma, from Wuji Films. The project is a personal proclamation from Manitoba-based Joshua Zacharias and Bronson Cameron, and tells an inspired throwback story about a young Chinese American forced to deal with enemies […]

Nearly a few months since revealing the poster, industry stunt professional Dan Rizzuto‘s directing debut, Torn: Dark Bullets, is ramping up its April 24 release on Amazon Prime with an official trailer. A raw and unapologetic look into a police shooting, racism, and the connections they share. Without stating that we know the answers, but not being afraid to ask the direct questions. While on duty, Detective Pearce shoots and kills a black teenager. During the criminal trial, Pearce is found not guilty. Despite his acquittal, Pearce’s personal life deteriorates as he uses booze and self-pity to cope. Amidst one of these bouts with the bottle, Pearce becomes aware of a civil lawsuit filed by the family for loss of life and damages. In a moment of alcohol-fueled self-righteousness, Pearce decides to confront the parents of the victim. When Pearce arrives at their home, circumstances spiral into a hostile situation […]
As stifling as it is to see life grind to a halt thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s been certainly beneficial the numerous performers and content creators out there who’ve otherwise been able to complete backlogged shortfilm projects. It’s also inspiring to see more folks hosting performers and projects on their own platforms to support other artists, and with the newest installment of The Hit List here, I’m happy to do my part. Up first is the usual round of stunt reels, this time featuring Tricia Guarin, Ron Smoorenburg, Phillip Dang, Ivy Haralson, Chris Cortez, Maurice Chan, Joelle Comeau, Devin Regan, Byon Tae-woo, Julia Morizawa, Sergey Ryabtsev, Woody Almazan, Marina Mazepa, Kyle Dean Bolt, Julia Elizabeth, Justin Cabanting, Kenji Shimohira, Nailah Johnson, Mark Stas, Sasha Simic, Tally Rodin, traceur LJ McDonald, and a fantastic performers’ love letter to sword in a montage of projects edited together by Aaron Toney. The […]

Putting together this week’s installment of The Hit List wasn’t too troubling, though the workload is now piling up, so I’ll be working on pacing myself a little more apart from last month’s announcement. For now, The Hit List begins with an extensive commemorative video of late stunt performer, athlete and martial artist Hans Wikkeling II who sadly passed away last year. The video was created by Peter Rulon-Miller for the late star martial artist’s memorial service earlier this month. The playlist continues with a raft of stunt reels by some of today’s top and up-and-coming stunt performers: Marie Mouroum, Jason Truong, Allen Quindiagan, Zia Kelly, Benjamin Sanchez, Ryan Bainbridge, Olivia Wilcox, Kent Lloyd, Margo Graff, Brian Krainson, Austin Durden, Megan Le (click here to watch), Jim Priz, Yessenia Cossio, Jackson Rozario, Tanguy Guinchard, Rissy Dollins, Jessica Barfoot, Simon Li, Margaryta Soldatova, Taylor Tai, and a 2019 lookback reel featuring […]
