THE HIT LIST: May 18, 2020
As you’re reading this, I had to get this installment of The Hit List on the day of! Definitely didn’t have much time this weekend, or energy for that matter to be honest.
And frankly, Sky Atlantic/Cinemax series Gangs Of London hasn’t yet arrived, and so I’m going without looking at stunt coordinator Jude Poyer‘s latest reel as it kicks off this edition of The Hit List, although I’m certain you’ll enjoy it. The remainder of stunt and demo reel entries come courtesy of Molly Miller, Michel Quach, Matt de Souza, David Lenz, Grace Dougall, Gregory Balzi, Dylan Hintz, Gaetan Caillot, Katrina Leigh Waters, Mandalin Dragan, Dan Carter, Stephen Bodi, Veera Seppälä, Yann Brouet, Genís Lama, Haruki Yoshida, Hayley Wright, Veto Swarm and Kristoffer Jørgensen, and Pirates Project out of Japan.

A quick note before we continue: The good folks at Art School Dropouts have announced their call for entries to filmmakers and creators for the next In-House Grindhouse. The first one kicked off in April with much success and the team is making some improvements for the next event for which they now hope to have even MORE entries:
Moreover, I’ve been informed by ASDO’s Stephanie Pham that the team have added an additional tutorial series centered on Gun-Fu, for those of you keen on crafting action for film, and you are more than welcome by clicking here to contact the group for details (I also have a special promocode you can use to help give 20% off on its purchase, and so all you need is to message me at filmcombatsyndicate@gmail.com).
Aptly, Gun-Fu is exactly what the next ASDO short is touting with its most recent teaser for John Wick/John Woo-inspired thriller, Light ‘Em Up. Following that is the latest trailer for Quigley Films’ Hero, and the official trailer premiere for Mortal Kombat (2021) co-star Max Huang‘s award-winning martial arts shortfilm thriller, No Way Out.
Onward we go with a hefty selection of practice fights and shortfilms from Istanbul Stunt Team, Gaetan Caillot Action Design, 777 Raw Street and a Scorpion V. White Ranger reupload from Bat In The Sun. Jason Li keeps the pace going with Kali-infused thriller The Index, followed by a wildly hilarious Ip Man spoof starring Tien Hoang and Action C, Dani Medina’s latest creation by way of Luis Cros Ruíz with Savage, a Godefroy Ryckewaert’s riotous action comedy Bad As(s), the third and latest entry from Outpost Media’s Hit Squad shortfilm series (don’t miss the first and second parts), and Ahmet Atalay’s explosive 36-minute, modestly-budgeted and pound-for-pound action thriller, The Cure, starring Mashood Alam.
Enjoy the hits!
