Putting together this week’s installment of The Hit List wasn’t too troubling, though the workload is now piling up, so I’ll be working on pacing myself a little more apart from last month’s announcement.
For now, The Hit List begins with an extensive commemorative video of late stunt performer, athlete and martial artist Hans Wikkeling II who sadly passed away last year. The video was created by Peter Rulon-Miller for the late star martial artist’s memorial service earlier this month.
The playlist continues with a raft of stunt reels by some of today’s top and up-and-coming stunt performers: Marie Mouroum, Jason Truong, Allen Quindiagan, Zia Kelly, Benjamin Sanchez, Ryan Bainbridge, Olivia Wilcox, Kent Lloyd, Margo Graff, Brian Krainson, Austin Durden, Megan Le (click here to watch), Jim Priz, Yessenia Cossio, Jackson Rozario, Tanguy Guinchard, Rissy Dollins, Jessica Barfoot, Simon Li, Margaryta Soldatova, Taylor Tai, and a 2019 lookback reel featuring stunt performer and traceur, Calen Chan.
I found a bunch of trailers for various action shorts online, though the one that stood out to me here is the one you see featured below. Check out Caged, from Holy Smokes Media, about a man clearly in a bind with some unsavory types and no one to help him in sight. Just beneath that are the latest posters, firstly for actor Bryan Larkin‘s latest hitman shortfilm threequel, Ross Boyask’s Dead End: Dead Man Walking, and lastly with Phillip Ray Tommy’s experimental supernatural action horror, Vajra, a concept in the works for something much larger in scale.
It’s off to the last lap with a snackable collection of practice action clips and shorts from around the web starting with videos courtesy of Jeremy Margalie, Marc David, Tyler Williams and a trio of goods from Lauren Mary Kim.
Kamen Ramen then takes you ringside with a Street Fighter fan fight, followed by an entry from Josiah Yu at Do You Productions, client project titled Undercover from Sajid Ali by way of YouTube action sound editor Epic Jax, Godefroy Ryckewaert’s Santa Run, and Braden White’s The Drive.
The playlist continues with another POV parkour chase sequence from Amadei Weiland, a bit of motivational fisticuffs from Prateek Parmar, a taste of Revenge from the Urban Ninjas, the new short titled Bully from KingLionST and GEL WORLD, Colin Levy’s superb sci-fi, Skywatch, and Kevin Gilbert’s Mortal Kombat fan film, Lost Souls.
Enjoy the hits!
