Lee B. Golden III

Making the rounds as of late is word of a new indie action thriller titled Fierce Target. The film stars aspiring actor and multi-award winning martial arts champion Tamas Nadas (Millenium Bugs) and hails from writer/director Emilio Lavizzi. Fierce Target is just the latest evolution for the actor and director, both European immigrants who previously worked together on a short called The Exchange in 2007. The partnership was pretty expedient following auditions as the two became best friends forthwith, paving away for their latest endeavor. Billed as a cross-betwern The Transporter and Snatch, with intense character driven, innovative kick ass action, Fierce Target sees Nadas in the role of a rebel thief whose world collides with a 12-year old girl on the run from a nefarious Senator who is now targeting them both. SDCC 2019: TOP GUN: MAVERICK Official Teaser Revealed!

Lee B. Golden III

It’s been quite the while since director Joseph Kosinski took to the helm with twice the Tom Cruise for futuristic sci-fi, Oblivion. They’re back together now and with San Diego Comic Con in full steam, the official teaser for Top Gun: Maverick is now here. The plot is largely a mystery though the general knowledge is that the iconic role of Maverick – played by Cruise since the 1986 film – will be an instructor in a technologically advanced world. Matt Donnelly at Variety quotes Cruise stating the following during the Hall H panel: “…to me, ‘Top Gun’ is about competition.” In the trailer shown, that sentiment is alive and well but its not about skilled pilots fighting against machines — this time, they’re battling drones.” Peter Craig, Justin Marks, and Eric Warren Singer penned the script. Rounding out the cast are Miles Teller and returning actor Val Kilmer, with […]

Siddharth Anand’s WAR: Hrithik VS. Tiger VS. Gun Battles VS. Fast Cars VS. Motorcycles VS. Martial Arts VS. All-Around Explosive Action In The Official Teaser

Lee B. Golden III

It was in 2015 when I first caught wind of actor Hrithik Roshan in what would ultimately be my first exposure to Bollywood cinema with Bang Bang. I’ve since been a Hrithik fan after five of his films in total, while additionally keeping track of Jackie Shroff’s martial arts wunderkind offspring, Tiger Shroff who broke out in 2016 with romantic action comedy, Heropanti. Both have planted their feet firmly with their fanbases to date and now they’re readying to etch themselves in further this Fall with action thriller War. The film also stars Vanni Kapoor and reteams Roshan with Bang Bang director Siddharth Anand, and is produced by Yash Raj Films’s Aditya Chopra whose credits partly include the Dhoom trilogy and Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs Of Hindostan. The story itself is a mystery but regardless of what the plot is, for now, the teaser goes pretty damn big and bold […]

CRAZY MUSASHI: Tak Sakaguchi Unleashes The Crazy In A First Teaser

Lee B. Golden III

A year and change since director and action stylist Yuji Shimomura teased a first look at longtime friend and cult film star Tak Sakaguchi’s character in Crazy Musashi, a first teaser has finally arrived online. Crazy Musashi marks the latest pairing between Sakaguchi and Shimomura, and producer Ota Takayuki who now launches the project via his newly established WiiBER production banner, thanks in large part to the aid of up to 1000 crowdfunding donors last year. Sakaguchi leads the project, billed as a 77-minute single-take actioner, which sought its long-endured development through a series of changing hands and the actor’s own career troubles with management which nearly led to an early retirement in 2013. Thankfully that language saw a prospective turnabout with Sakaguchi then appearing subsequently in Yuji Shimomura’s CQC thriller, Re:Born, Takahiro Ishihara’s Red Blade and Shinsuke Sato’s Kingdom which graces an event U.S. screening in August. As for […]

MULAN: Crystal Liu Yifei Defies Conventions In The First Official Teaser For Disney’s Live-Action Epic

Lee B. Golden III

To think at any point before last year we could have ended up with a whiter version of Walt Disney Pictures’s current live-action incarnation of Mulan is just crazy on its face. Sadly, that’s a reality long etched in Hollywood history and one that the town is now tackling one film at a time, and especially with helmer Niki Caro’s latest prospective feat from the House Of Mouse as it now samples the goods for the masses with an official teaser now online. VANGUARD: Jackie Chan Shows He Can Still Keep Up In The First Teaser

Lee B. Golden III

I love that some people can handle a good headbutt a little more than others in Stanley Tong’s latest, Vanguard. It’s a nifty little point of humor amid what looks to be an explosive action thriller that amps up the stunt caliber just enough to make Jackie Chan and the cast look good without anyone getting seriously injured. Big guns and fast fists and feet arise in this little endeavor which also stars Yang Yang, actress Miya Muqi and actor Allen Ai in a story about a covert international security agency going up against a powerful terrorist organization that finds itself as the last, best hope for an accountant marked for death by terrorists. Check out the teaser above and stay tuned for more info!

Rejoining director Daniel Lee and producer Tsui Hark, the film is officially poised for a September 30 release. May 1960. Mount Everest, the second step under the cliff. The first four failures have cost them too much physical strength – …finally, the wind and snow stop the gap. Lee co-penned the script for a cast led by none other than actor Wu Jing whose box office returns have enjoined him with great favor in the industry with hits like Wolf Warrior 2 and The Wandering Earth. Zhang Ziyi also stars along with appearances by Jing Boran and Zhang Yi among others, including an expected appearance by […]

WINGS OVER EVEREST

WINGS OVER EVEREST Teaser Cheats Death At Deadly Heights

Lee B. Golden III

At least one distinct pattern you’ll find with films emerging this year, particularly from China, appears to be the on-going rescue-themed narratives of late. Such awaits experienced mountaineer and former VP and lead game producer at Gameloft, Fei Yu, whose directorial debut, Chinese/English action adventure, Wings Over Everest, which proudly presented its first trailer at this year’s film festivities in Shanghai. Actress Zhang Jingchu and actors Koji Yakusho and Taiwan’s Po-Hung Lin star from a script by Yu about a rescue team on the clock with 72 hours to prevent a terrorist disaster. In order to achieve this, they must retrieve high-priority CIA documents from a crashed plane in the Himalayas, journeying them to the “death zone”, a “no man’s land” located nearly 30,000 feet above sea level with temperatures as cold as -40 degrees Fahrenheit. Netflix’s FAST & FURIOUS: SPY RACERS Teases A New Fast Family

Lee B. Golden III

You’d have to see it to believe it, as this is the first look at Netflix‘s forthcoming animated series, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers. The teaser just screened on Wednesday among others for a raft of upcoming shows over at Annecy International Animated Film Festival in Annecy, France. Teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination. As far as world-building goes, I wouldn’t count-out potentially seeing characters from this series pop up in the upcoming ninth and tenth films. Fast & Furious: Spy Racers was announced last Spring and has the franchise’s own Vin Diesel serving as one of its executive producers. Also exec producing are Tim Hedrick (DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender) and Bret Haaland (All Hail […]

VORTEX (Fortissimo Films)

VORTEX: Catch The Teaser For Gan Jianyu’s Brooding New Crime Thriller

Lee B. Golden III

Gan Jianyu’s newest crime thriller, Vortex, offers a seething and brutal look into a tale of greed and honor. The footage alone speaks volumes for itself and currently serves as one of the crown jewels of Asian arthouse banner Fortissmo Films’ 2019 sales roster going into the new year after recently emerging from bankruptcy. There’s no real release date as of yet but I suspect at least a mid-summer or early Fall rollout given the timing of the teaser now running online. Vortex features The Thousand Faces Of Dunjia actor Da Peng in the role of Liu, a gambling addict whose debt troubles grow more complex when he finds a young girl in the trunk of an unregistered car he tries to sell after stealing. The film also stars Ou Hao, Li Meng, Cao Bingkun and Sha Baoliang, with Cao Weiyu and young actress Audyrey Duo also starring. Peep the […]
