DEADPOOL 3 Rejoins Reynolds With ‘Free Guy’ And ‘The Adam Project’ Director
Welp…if ain’t broke…
Shawn Levy is now at the helm for the third installment of 20th Century Studios’ Deadpool franchise, according to a THR exclusive on Friday.
The move reunites Levy with actor Ryan Reynolds who will don the moniker of Marvel’s “Merc-With-A-Mouth” once more following two successful features which currently enjoy a box office total of more than $1.56 billion worldwide. Tim Miller directed the inaugural 2016 hit prior to the 2018 sequel from Atomic Blonde helmer David Leitch.
Deadpool and Deadpool 2 scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are tapped for scripting duties; Emmy-winning writers Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux (Bob’s Burgers) were previously attached to the project back in 2020.
Levy’s two latest films featuring Reynolds are currently available for streaming: Free Guy (Disney+ and HBO Max), which endured several delays until its release last August and is on par for a sequel as of this month, and The Adam Project (Netflix).
