DOVBUSH: WARRIOR OF THE BLACK MOUNTAIN Delivers Outlaw Justice In The Trailer For Oleg Sanin’s Ukranian Period Actioner
Ukraine’s Oles Sanin has been popping up in a few territories since the release of his latest period action epic, Dovbush: Warrior Of The Black Mountain, from Pronto Film. Minerva Pictures International is representing the film for buyers at the American Film Market following its premiere at the Odesa Film Festival and its subsequent release in Germany, and will next head for cinemas in the Netherlands in the days ahead. To our delight, the film has also been hosting a round of exclusive screenings on select dates in the U.S. which you can read up on by clicking here.
Carpathians. Beginning of the 18th century. The brutal rule of the Polish nobility forces Hutsuls to flee to the mountains. Two brothers, Oleksa and Ivan Dovbush, find themselves to be outlaws and become opryshoks. In search of revenge on the lords for the murder of Dovbush’s parents, the brothers become enemies of each other. One yearns for money, the other for justice. Hutsuls start a rebellion led by Oleksa. The nobility does everything possible to destroy Dovbush. But he outwits them. So the legend of the Carpathian knight spread. A legend that inspires generations of those who fight for the freedom of their native land. About the strength and love of Oleksa Dovbush, about betrayal and wrongdoing. About how he lived and how he cheated death.
Dovbush: Warrior Of The Black Mountain stars Sergey Strelnikov who can also be seen in Roman Perfilyev’s rollicking period Euro-samurai action thriller, Once Upon A Time In Ukraine. Agata Buzek and Daria Plakhti also star.
