Actor
Ed Skrein will be the next in line to share in the weight of producer Luc Besson’s
Transporter franchise with the prequel trilogy starter,
The Transporter Refueled. Time will tell, of course, if the
Northmen: A Viking Saga, former
Game Of Thrones co-star and co-star of upcoming home invasion thriller,
Tiger House can maintain the fanfare under
Brick Mansions helmer Camille Delamarre’s direction, but in the meantime, he’s since snagged himself a new role in 20th Century Fox’s live-action take on Marvel property,
Daredevil.
SYNOPSIS:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Skrein’s role in the film was long speculated since the news began cirulating a few months back, but the actor has since confirmed his role as that of Ajax, one of the people involved earlier on in the Weapon X program who, himself, becomes a killing machine with superhuman strength.
Skrein joins lead actor
Ryan Renyolds from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, with actor
T.J. Miller, actresses
Gina Carano and
Morena Baccarrin and newcome actress
Brianna Hildebrand also starring among others.
Production is currently underway in Vancouver with director Tim Miller at the helm for the film’s launch on February 12, 2016, and proudly enough, with the R-rating fans have so hope for.
