FANNA: Check Out The Trailer For The Latest Malaysian Action Drama Starring Fify Azmi
2019’s Malaysian hit, Wira, saw the emergence of local cinematic action star Hairul Azreen in the Adrian Teh-directed pic. Inarguably one of the best titles released that year, among its action star caliber also stood actress Fify Azmi who puts on an equally impressive dramatic and physical showcase, and from that point on, I personally wondered if or when we’d ever hear from him again.
Fast forward to 2023 and following her recent role in Disney+ Hotstar series Special Force: Anarchy, and indeed Azmi has since made her return to the big screen with action drama Fanna, this time under director Andy W.S. Liew. The cast also joins Azmi with Syafie Naswip, Colleen Rosanna Augustin, Andy Black Tan, Rashid Salleh, Charles Nilbert, Kenji Sawahii, Sahronizam, Roy Azman, and Aleza Shadan.
FANNA is a heartwarming love drama film that tells the story of Fanna, a cancer survivor who falls in love with Shafik, the son of a criminal gang leader.
Unfortunately, their love is only realized at the end of Fanna’s life, when her cancer returns more aggressively. Shafik also realized that he has fallen in love with Fanna, but things get complicated when another criminal gang attempts to kill him due to an ongoing dispute between the two gangs.
The situation worsens when Black, the younger brother of the rival gang leader, is killed when Shafik tries to save Fanna after she is kidnapped by Black. Realizing the danger that awaits them, Shafik and Fanna flee to a hiding place outside the country. In truth, Shafik never wanted to be bad; he was only following his father’s wishes.. Now, he realize that Fanna is more precious than anything. In pursuit of happiness, Shafik decides to marry Fanna, who is critically ill…
The film’s campaign began just under two months ago with a teaser trailer for the film ahead of its theatrical release just a few days ago via Metrowealth, in addition to several behind-the-scenes featurettes. The latest trailer is available below, featuring Azmi along with a handful of sprightly young action talents along for the ride. Check it out!
