Gear Up For HEROFEST 2014 This May!
Film reporters like myself get all kinds of shortfilms shared to us from aspiring content creators, particularly screenfighters and independent filmmakers looking to get acknowledgement through a bigger audience, the generosity of appreciative fans through future crowdfunding efforts to create films with better equipment and more people, and a possible shot for bigger projects in film. One good way to start, however, is to get your film circulated through film festivals, which is where film community The Collective, and independent filmmaker and Herofest 2014 film fesitival fellow organizer Jeff Lunzaga’s production company comes in:
Torrid Productions in association with The Collective presents it’s 8th annual ACTION film festival featuring Bay Area ACTION filmmakers. Did we mention ACTION? We’re talking about Martial Arts to Superheroes to Sci-Fi Adventures to Gangwars. We are looking for new blood this year to showcase their work at our big screen event this MAY. So grab your camera and make a short that will get the audience’s adrenaline going!
GUIDELINES:
* You short film must have ACTION / FIGHT Sequences. Consideration WILL be based on EFFORTS, ADRENALINE LEVELS, PRESENTATION, & ENTERTAINMENT VALUE.
* IF you are doing a parody, keep in mind that it still has to KICK ASS!
* Please DO NOT USE clips from other movies in your films. We want everything to come from YOUR camera(s) you will be using. More kudos if you have original music!
* The overall look, style, performance, and editing of your movie is essential for consideration.
* If Drama is your thing, we say, “EMOTIONAL CONTENT, NOT ANGA!” (Bruce Lee – Enter The Dragon)
* Lastly, make sure that you do your final mixdown / export a few days before MARCH 6th so you can make the Deadline by mail. (No Drop Offs)
