HANUMAN: SHADOW MASTER Trailer Teases Beastly Martial Arts Action
Far be it for me to suggest that krauts can’t indulge in their share of martial arts action fandom if not sooner than others I suppose. Either way, it’s now in the hands of Splendid Film label as the most recent German-dubbed trailer is now online for martial arts actioner, Hanuman: Shadow Master, arriving on German DVD and Blu-Ray from November 25.
The film marks the latest from The Gene Generation and The Assent director Pearry Teo, who rejoins actor and Kbach Kun Boran Khmer stylist D.Y. Sao who stars opposite late actor DMX in Teo’s quietly-released Tubi revenge thriller, Fast Vengeance. Produced by Chaya Supannarat, Hanuman: Shadow Master also joins Teo and Sao together for the first time with rising stars Brian Le and Daniel Mah (Everything Everywhere All At Once), and with Prachya Pinkaew of Ong Bak fame sitting in as exec producer.
After being slain defending his tenement building from a group of vicious criminals, a man is reborn with animal-like superpowers and makes it his mission to right the wrongs of his city.
Sao’s been a lot busier in the last several years, and particularly since he’d been collaborating way more with Le and Mah and the team at Martial Club. It’s definitely had a hand in bolstering his own career trajectory as an emerging screen star, something I personally hoped to see happen in the last eight years (you can also catch him in one of his earliest smaller action roles in Champion Road: Arena, from late director R.L. Scott).
The poster is now out as well which you can view below, and I’m not TOO sure about it, but I’ll let others be the judge. I’m looking forward to seeing what becomes of Hanuman: Shadow Master for its stateside release, so stick around for future updates as the weeks pass.
