HUNTER ELEVEN: THE AWAKEN Sees China, Indonesian And Hong Kong Talent Unite For 2027 Geopolitical Action Thriller

Production on geopolitical action thriller, Hunter Eleven: The Awaken, is already underway following multiple reports of its development in Malaysian media outlets. The Malay-English language film is being directed by Frank See (War On Terror: KL Anarchy, Legasi: Bomba The Movie) and stars Shi Yanneng (Flash Point, Striking Rescue) in his first international outing, in a move that’s being signaled as a major investment for Malaysian action cinema.
HUNTER 11: THE AWAKEN is set amidst the geopolitical tensions of Southeast Asia. The story follows a military intelligence team striving to uncover the mysterious disappearance of several elite personnel over the past year.
Amidst this investigation, two figures emerge, each bearing their own burdens: SADD, who seeks to come to terms with his past, and NOAH, driven relentlessly by a desire to avenge what was once taken from him. Their paths converge on a journey to uncover the truth.
The deeper they dig, the clearer it becomes that this case is no mere routine military operation. A vast and mysterious force is slowly being brought to light.
Shi is joined by fellow leading man Sky Iskandar (Kapla High Council, upcoming The Furious: Pertaruhan Maruah), along with Yayan Ruhian (The Raid, upcoming The Furious and Bluefish), and Hana Malasan (The Shadow Strays, Susuk). Rounding out the cast are Nia Atasha, Peter Davis, Nina Kho, Ariel Izz, Chai Zi, Sangeetha Krishnasamy, Amanda Ang, and Wan Serigala, with celebrated Hong Kong stunt and screen veteran Stephen Tung Wai (A Better Tomorrow, Bursting Point, Stuntman) serving as action choreographer next to Ruhian, and with See overseeing modern tactical and firearms design according to the reports.
Hunter Eleven: The Awaken hails from Fxhammer Films Sdn. Bhd. with cameras having rolled in Langkawi and at Iskandar Studios. GSC is handling the film’s regional release in Malaysia, with North American distribution already set following pre-sales at Busan.
