JOHNNY Z: Help Crowdfund Jonathan Straiton’s Martial Arts Zombie Horror Throwdown!
Night Of Something Strange helmer Jonathan Straiton is looking to build on his acclaimed stature as of late. With efforts going toward the production of action horror, Johnny Z, Straiton has all the pieces to his current plan laid out with at least half of his budget already met, and the other half now needed with all the help he can his cast and crew can muster via Indiegogo.
“Johnny Z” is a horror-action feature film about a half human, half zombie named Johnny who, under the guidance of a martial arts master seeks vengeance on the evil corporation that created him. It’s “Land of the Dead” meets “The Raid.”
Straiton has partnered with Black Mandala (Inbred, What the Waters Left Behind) who will be overseeing worldwide distribution. He’ll be rejoined by co-star and producer, SRS Cinema’s own Ron Bonk scripting, with Film Combat Syndicate favorite Dylan Hintz serving as fight choreographer, and a cast that includes actor and martial artist Felix Cortes (Boniato, King’s Blade), and Night Of Something Strange cohorts Michael Merchant, Wayne W. Johnson and Trey Harrison.
