L.A. RUSH: Elijah Wood Fronts The Cast On The Latest International Poster For Upcoming Crime Thriller
It’s worth mentioning that last seven years have benefitted actor Elijah Wood who has taken shape immensely in the role of producer at Spectrevision banner. Films like Belladonna Of Sadness, the Murnion/Milott-helmed Cooties and Panos Cosmatos’ Mandy and his latest, Richard Stanley’s Color Out Of Space are worth pointing out while Wood keeps the acting engine running in front of the lens with a new poster in our midst for crime pic, L.A. Rush.
The film, said to be a North American, Chinese, Ukrainan and Canadian co-production, is helmed by Jihuang Peng and screenwriter/co-director Peng Chen, the minds behind the award-winning 2009 drama, Walking To School. I’m not quite familiar if this is any to do with the Midway Games/Zoo Digital street racing game franchise of the same name; Rather, the film’s plot (as the logline dictates) centers on the story of a father who goes into the world of video gaming to save his teenage daughter from the control of a mysterious game developer.
The film also stars actor and producer Jason Yee (The Girl From The Naked Eye) and actor Wesley Wong (Pacific Rim: Uprising) among the cast and marking Wood’s latest foray in film for the Chinese market. The poster also lists cinematographer Jamie King (First Man), production designer Roy Rede (Reach, The Butterfly Room), editor Richard Halsey (The Girl From The Naked Eye, Rocky) and stunt coordinator Ayhan Tongadur (stunt performance on Logan, War Dogs, TV series SEAL Team) among others.
There’s no official press release out as of yet but the film is definitely forthcoming and I’ll be sure to help keep folks posted on this one for certain.
